This is a crazy post all the way through - since when did this site prompt for the moral viewpoints of posters in judging people....? If the OP wants to hide their IP address and people know how to do it, then they have a choice to make - either provide the information or not respond at all.

I wouldn't say judgement, more people just try to point out the facts.

The main point I made is that it's not worth the hassle unless you really do need it, and will provide a slower response compared with going directly through your ISP. Legality (arguments aside) is often worth pointing out too, as sometimes people aren't fully aware.

One thing I would point out. You mention about the hundreds of proxy relay servers out there.

    Are they to be trusted?
    Are they safe?
Will they use the information without you knowing?
    etc...

As I said before, it's not something the average joe really needs to do, unless there is a specific need. Their connection will be faster, and in some circumstances, they'll actually be more secure going directly through their ISP rather than an unknown, and possibly slow proxy server. To most "safe/common" sites, you'll just be a number, and often a dynamic one depending upon your ISP.

Personally rather than hiding from maybe one or two websites, I'd be more worried about filtering ALL my traffic through a proxy I might not know much about.

What i said is that its usually used for illegal things and asked the op what he wanted to use it for.

Learn to read before you flame other users. Im simply giving both sides of a debate.

It wasnt a flame it was merely posting the other side of the coin if it is for illegal activities then thats wrong morally and lawfully as I said, maybe you missed some of my post :)

Also I never quoted you or anybody :) so I suggest you read posts before posting as you made your self look a little silly then.
