My talkTalk regularly exceeds the 8Mb limit, often by as much as 40-50%. I have tried to get a technical answer to this, from TalkTalk, BT, and so on. It is surely not possible to get that sort of speed. I've even sent in screenshots to prove the fact, and whereas it has been acknowledged by that my connection speed is 'unusually stable' there is no answer as to why. Obviously these fitures are not from one application alone, I mean I don't get 12mbps from just one download, probably because the sites I download from do not have the capacity/low number of users to support it, but combined data download is about that.

Well, I would be a fool to complain so... I won't!
Know me for who I am, not for who I say I am.
  • I don't know about everyone else but I find what I get with NTL 4 MB service is more than enough for everyday browsing and downloading. One point people seem to forget is that the internet is only as fast as the sites that you visit. So even if you have a connection speed of 100mb you can only be as fast as the speed the server you are connected to!!;) Most servers are unable to provide anything over 4mb anyway....not everyone is like Microsoft!!

Would you show your faster speed by doing a speedtest here and using the Share your results and post the forum link on here.
