I managed to remember to get the washing in and good thing I did as the heavens have opened.
I've found out that neither DD will be home 'til late so no cooking for me :j
I also managed to download my first film today :o I've never done it before so I'm proud of myself lol though I did have to text the BFish to find out what to do once it had downloaded :o It's a film that's been recommended for my OU course so I'll give it a look at some point.
Going to finish in the kitchen and that will be me done 'til tomorrow

Thank you to everyone for their hugs and kind thoughts xx

Hi PenPen! Good to see you back on here. :D

LW - I've read back a day or so and not seen any posts from you. Hope you are ok. :(

It's been an ok first week, but I've struggled to do anything in the evenings apart from feeding everyone.

Today I had a lie-in (unplanned - forgot that OH doesn't work Saturdays at the moment, set the alarm too early and decided to ignore it when I realised :o) and did some dailies. Then we found out that OH's glasses were ready, so we spent the afternoon at costco's. Since then I've put most shopping away, had a short snooze, rustled up something vaguely edible and caught up with e-mails and various bits and pieces. Not a lot, really. :(

Time to put some more laundry in, do a HHC somewhere and have a bath. Meeting OH at the put at 11 and I really want to get there a bit earlier today to chat to a (female) friend. Will check on FB first to make sure that she's out, as I don't fancy being there by myself (I don't mind, really, but OH would).

I'll be back in the morning for school work and trying to improve this hovel at least a bit.

ETA When OH was a captive audience in the car I tried to persuade him to do tea on the days he doesn't work. It seems that his ability to come up with objections exceeds my ability to find solutions. :(

    Well done Dora!

I have nearly finished packing... Although will probably end up rearranging things! The study is a tip as I have pretty much gutted the spare room. Tomorrow I have to clear as many window sills as I can (including taking down blinds and curtains) so that the upstairs windows can be painted next week. It will be SO nice to have them done.

    PenPen _party_

I have cleared the bedroom to be so that it could be plastered, and dug the rest of the potatoes out so they don't just rot in the ground. Terrible year for veg or is that just us?

Oh my! *swoons* Mind you I don't NEED a travel line with pegs - I already HAVE one (surprise! surprise!)

I have been growing tomatoes (outside, admittedly) I have eaten 2:p would have been three but I misplaced the first one and never found it:rotfl:

Apparently it's been the coldest summer since 1993. As I was heavily pregnant during the summer of 1993 I kind of KNEW that 1993 wasn't a good summer!

  • Sitting here munching on jaffa cakes and doing nowt. Have cleaned a lot of the kitchen and bleached both bathrooms, and taught Minion how to do perfect fried eggs - her plan is to get each part perfect until she can do a full English, a full Irish, an Ulster Fry, a full Scottish and then move onto other countries' breakfasts. I think this might be part of one of her plans/schemes for her future where she can always get money working in a cafe if it comes to it.

Reason I think this is that she mentioned one of the girls in her class is horrified that she is a) at school and not being kept off for 6 weeks and b) not being dropped off/collected by car due to her crutches. She says she was thinking 'well, I live in the Real World where stuff goes wrong and you have to get on with it instead of looking for someone else to sort it for me'.

Went out to get some food, and she has picked Chinese roast chicken for tomorrow, and persuaded me to get her a lamp for her bedroom. Came back and was almost incapable of walking, so she insisted I used her crutches to get to the kitchen - which was a lot easier, tbh - and she is nagging me to use my stick again - and to pimp it up like I did her crutches.

I turned round to find that she had chucked all her white washing down the stairs into its usual heap in the kitchen - and had loaded the machine with her dark washing, put the tablets in and added a colour catcher and fabric softener.

    She scares me sometimes.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.
