Have you got a CD?
Does it run any better without the printer installed?
Still look for the upgrade repair option
1/ To begin with you must proceed as if you were upgrading to Windows Vista from another operating system. Therefore, before you start go through the 52. Upgrading To Windows Vista instructions first to see what is involved.
2/ Once you have read the upgrade instructions then begin the upgrade. You should be aware that the upgrade may take several hours.
3/ After the upgrade has completed the following instruction will be found useful.

Hi, Yes I have a cd of OS, whether it works is a different matter. Not having the printer installed makes no difference at all. Still have to connect using widows repair and restore point, but have to do it twice , takes ages. Tried using my own restore point, but won,t accept it. Something is obstructing me. Why E-recovery/ alt-f10 won,t work is a mystery. When I do that, nothing happens until I loose the keys and repair auto kicks in again.Have you got a CD?

Might be hardware, are you able to click start then run, type chkdsk /r (with the space) then press enter, type Y to confirm for next start, click OK and restart?0

Type cmd in the Run box and wait for the results to appear. When it does, 'right click' on it and then go from there.0

I have just done that and got black box up which I typed chkdsk in and got access denied. Unless I am not using run box. I don,t have run unless I type it in, then click on run program.I,m obviously doing something wrong?Type cmd in the Run box and wait for the results to appear.
