Hi, I'm new to this, but can anyone help me.!!!
Been trying to claim missold PPI with HSBC for some time. Despite sending letters and making calls, I am getting nowhere.
My loan has now ended and the latest defence to their argument is that they no longer have the paperwork but are trying to arrange a scanned copy which they have on their computer that may be available to me.! f not, then I am out of luck and cannot make a claim.
Any suggestions as to what I can do next who be greatly appreciated.!
After reading other posts, it appears that its a long and hard process. I can see why their tactics put people off making a claim, but I'm currently on maternity leave and the extra money would be great now, so I need to keep on at them.
Any help or suggestions anyone can give me would be much appreciated.
Best bet would be to start your own thread and post details so peeps can advice you-ie when the loan was paid off, who itwas with etc

Having same trouble with Barclays, went through solicitors in November, they claimed in February, phoned barclays on 31/08/11, they said my claim was logged at the end of June. They also said they had not recieved letters, questionnaires etc. My solicitors have said not to worry and sent my complaint to the Financial Ombudsman as they say my claim is dated before 20th April 2011, yet barclays say it isn't. Where do i stand etc... any help much appreciated. thanks. Just in case it helps, it was for a loan of £10,000 over 5 years at £295 per month. I paid the loan off in full after 18 months.0

FOS will probably deem the complaint to have been received two working days after it was posted - provided the solicitors can persuade the that it was submitted then. However, sending it to FOS means it will probably take longer to resolve in the long run.0

Back in 2006, when the bank charges refunds were happening, Barclays claimed at the last minute that they had lost all the documentation to do with my case and that i would have to start the process again if i wanted to claim anything back, bearing in mind the process had been going on for 4 months, i believe it's a stalling tactic the banks use in order to wait for a new court ruling to go through...
I eventually took them to court as i had copies of all the documentation i had sent them and got £4990 back in charges... Up yours Barclays! :T0
