ok you guys who are after a £10 lumie......I managed to get the Philips version £60...reduced to £35, scanned at £5........checked the box and all seemsok although not tested it yet (theyre for presents for mum and mil)....i'm going to 4-5 'local' tescos in the next few days and will keep my eyes peeled.......my question is...they're quite heavy...so if i do find any, does anyone want me to get them one? I know everyone will pprobably want the lumie...but if they only have the Philips ones, would anyone want those? If so,i'll get them and post on here if anywhere has any!
Hi - if you do manage to get a spare I would very happily take it off your hands. Its really nice of you to make the offer - even if you don't manage to get 'spares'. :T:T:T0 -
"Don't ask, don't get" is not a good reason to keep asking people for luxury items cheap. If I'm wrong about that please someone correct me because I've got a heck of a wishlist of things I can't afford!Wanted a job, now have one. :beer:0

Oh, Looby123 I hope you dont live to regret your kind offer, ha ha. I've been reading/typing on the forums from my phone and I think I better sign off and go to bed, my hands are now claw like and a wee bit sore and I have just read there might be ANOTHER sale at the weekend. Its maybe for the best I cant get out for the rest of the week, who knew there were so many things I never knew that I actually need?Total debt £20,000 Northern Rock loan:eek:
Debt free date April 2016!!!!:eek:0 -
Managed to get TRESemme hairdryers tonight so that's a few Christmas presents sorted. It was the AC 2000 - Model 5544U and scanned at £2.86. Also got 2 Wireless Mice (or should that be mouses lol) for £3 each. Don't know how much they were before but I needed a new one anyway and now have one for my son's laptop too (too bad it's purple). If I had known then what I know now . . .
:A Official Boots Tart (I seem to be retired just now though) :A0 -

last night i posted that my daughters would LIKE laptops for xmas - you then go on to have a rant about how it amazes you that kids NEED laptops and how you had to wait until you were 21 etc
i then post that i am looking for laptops and flip camera - you then go on a rant about people asking others for spares etc. I have posted asking for things, i have also had a look for things that i am not interested in in stores in the hope to help others in this site.
really hoping this is a coincidence!!!
as for dont ask dont get is not a good reason - i am guessing when you are in store you do not go and ask staff if they have any luxury items reduced???
and for what it is worth - everything that has been listed on sale woul dbe considered a luxury and not an essential item!
Yes, actually, there is a problem. I'm tired of seeing a few entitled people expecting other people to provide high ticket electrical items for them cheaply, and looking at your posting history, you're one of the worst! I left freecycle for the same reason - people wanting iphones and the latest games consoles free. You have 30-odd posts, mostly asking for help of some sort and as far as I can see you've not done anything to help anyone else out on here. Why you would think if anyone happens to have over a thousand quids worth of electrical gadgets "spare" that you deserve them more than anyone else, just because you had the gall to pester people on here for them is beyond me.
*IF* I happened to end up with enough bargain gadgets that I'd given them to relevant family and friends and still had some over, and I offered them on here, I'd be looking at giving them to one of the many people who do so much to help others out, not to someone who only posts here when they want something.
Not everything in the sale is a luxury, (kettles for example), and there's a huge difference between someone wanting a toaster or a lamp to treat their S.A.D. and someone wanting two laptops/netbooks and a flip camcorder for their kids who aren't even in their teens yet.
Seriously, if you think begging on here for stuff every five minutes is ok it says a lot about you. How many people on here do you think would like a laptop? How many do you think have been looking and haven't found one? How many have actually asked for one?
It's the braggers that buy 82 of everything (and ebay it) and post a list, and the people who feel some sort of entitlement to a share of the bargains that spoil these threads.
I'll repeat, there are lots of things I'd love, both for myself and for my family, but asking for them here is not the right way to get them and it's pretty insulting to the people who are sharing information to try to help others.
ETA: This thread is too fabulous for a slanging match, and I am pretty sure you will fail to see anything wrong with your behaviour anyway, so I'm going to say no more. I shall be mailing the mods with my views on people repeatedly posting begging threads for high value items on threads like this.

Sorry I prob should have mentioned the hard drive is an external hard drive (to plug in to back up all your data on your PC.) I think there was an hitachi 1TB one for £7 and iomega 1TB for £20 that looked very enticing as have a huge amount of photos etc that I'd hate to lose if the PC stopped working. Makes me a bit nervous not having it properly backed up!
Yeah, I really fancy a kindle, they sound great, so the thought a £17 e-reader would be very nice instead, but I haven't heard of anybody finding any in any NI stores so I'm not holding out any great hope. On the small chance that I do find some I'll let you know!Be nice - it's free!
