Hello, can anyone suggest a good laptop to look out for? I know nothing about spec but all this talk of bargains I should ideally see if my local has anything. DS @ uni could really use a new one (something inside his is damaged) so likely to be cheper getting a new one. Also what is a notebook?
    Thanks

got myself a proper bargain today! i decided to return the photo frame that i bought yesterday (impulse buy!) to my local store that doesnt have as bigger electrical department as the tesco extras. whilst at customer services i asked if they had any discontinued cameras and the lady there made a phone call. a security guard turned up and said there were a few out back and he went to see what he could find. out he came with 5 boxes and then to my surprise took me to a self scanner that i hadnt seen before. how i have never noticed this scanner is beyond me, i walk past it all the time! anyway, the first camera scanned at £79.99, then the following two boxes turned out to be missing the cameras! the 4th box however was a olympus x925 that was ex display and to the shock of us both scanned at £10! the security guy then said he wasnt sure if he could sell it to me but i asked if he could check with the manager and he agreed. finally the manager came along and said i could buy it but could not return it if it is faulty. once purchased i went back to the self scanner and scanned a few items and got a braun epilator for £4.08 for my gf who will be chuffed to bits! i would have been there longer but had to go to work so will be back there later this afternoon! i will let people know which store this is but i want to make sure i have checked through the items i am interested in first. i promise i wont buy everything and will let people know the items i dont want that are reduced. oh, and there was 1 braun epilator left.... ;)

    Good finds!
  • Quick question...

My tesco tonight is getting more of the cheap laptops in store as have a delivery at midnight. Is there any point in me going up there? Or can you only buy laptops when the electrical desk is open?!?!?! help :j

Any will be ok. You can't exactly be choosy anyway if you're wanting one for £100 or less.

A netbook is a smaller, more portable, but slower laptop, with no CD/DVD drive (although you can purchase external ones).
Wanted a job, now have one.

How do you know this? If you are certain they are going to be there I would call in later and ask if there will be anyone there to fetch one for you if you visit in the early hours. If they say no, I'd ask if they could put one by for you to collect in the morning. You might find that the delivery mysteriously did not turn up or there were no laptops on it though ;)
    Good luck!
My husband says he will leave me if I don't stop shopping......... God I will miss that man.

I rang up my local 3 times this morning, and 2 of the laptops I have asked for the HP £99 and HP £149 they said a delivery will be made at 12. I asked the lady on the phone if she recommends coming in at 12 and looking and she said yeah all electrical items get updated at midnight. So going to risk it and take my list! :D also know a few people who work there so hopefully theres somebody whos floating around who would go in the back for me. If not i'll quote the customer service lady who told me to come :) Fingers crossed i'll get at least 1! Been doing this for days and no luck!

I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it. :)

    Weight loss 3 stone :D

Might be an Isle of Wight only thing. Saves Tesco the cost of shipping the items around. Good luck if you can get one.
