Stack: While you were out, I got the keys to your car. And drove it into a big wall. And if you don't like it, tough. I've had my fun, and that's all that matters.0

If you click on Start, then connect to and double-click "Show all connections". Are they any references to a wireless network connection?0
-
nope...double checked with internet company and they said there was everything in the box for wireless connection (it wasnt me who phoned them up)...its the same comp we have the adsl with, who supplied the modem. can one of you just tell me what i need, this is so annoying so much easier when it was just the laptop!!!Fr. your laptop may have wireless built-in already, or it may not.. if you tell us the model, we may be able to check. Some have a switch or keyboard combination to turn the wireless card on
Which model of wireless router is it?
If the PC is going to be located near the router, and it has an ethernet card in (most do), then you could just wire that using a cable, instead of going wireless..
Could you elaborate about this "both of which have wireless icons on but im sure i need some sort of reciever"Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
i think you might have to give me a tutorial on this one if you can as i need to do it tonight.....the laptop is ibm thinkpad t23. the other computer is advent t9317. the modem i got with virgin is a usb one called speedtouch 330 and the router also from virgin is speedtouch 780wl. i am on adsl broadband. included in the router is ethernet cable, telephone cable, usb cable, adsl filter (i already have these on) ...this is all i know, i have got the installation cd but i ant to know what you say first in case i need to buy anything extra?Fr. one comp is upstairs one is in the room below..what i meant by reciever is that when the other router (which was the wrong one) was bought it came with a usb wireless reciever. the t23 has an option under control panel to ''set up wireless network''...should i just follow the cd instructions and hope for the best? will it be possible to get both comps on the internet at same time tonight?Fr. putting the wireless issue aside for a second, once the router is configured with your password and settings mentioned in the previous link, any PC or laptop with an ethernet card

Will be able to get onto the internet, so you could carry the PC downstairs temporarily to connect.
If you are trying to renew Norton, it's often cheaper to rebuy it.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0
