If you look at the demand, you will see that it is a FAKE stamp on there...! They print the forms with the stamp already on their template, with the Ipswich/Norwich court stamp....and it is total RUBBISH..! You, CAPQUEST, have been sussed...! How much more lower can you go......and i think the law may take a dim view also.....don't you....?
Just read the form really carefully, as my one was a fake, i ignored it.....and nothing happened....because mine was a moody copy......
just check the so called court stamp....you will see it is the same print and the print of the paper...0 -
Hello all !
I recently had a credit check done and it showed that I had poor credit. I was bit shocked, I don't have loans, never have, no HP.. and the only credit cards I ever had was one back at university and I got rid of that in 2004.
When I checked my credit file I found that Capquest had registered a default against my credit file. It lists the account start date as 16/10/2008 and the date of default as 25/11/2009. The address listed is my parents address I've not lived there since 2001 and my name and date of birth are correct. The account type is listed as Telecoms supplier.
I did take out a mobile internet contract with Orange around that time in 2008 but the contract was cancelled as there was no signal in the area I was living in at the time I signed up.
I've had no phone calls or letters from capquest regarding this default on my credit file. And I've called Orange assuming that they were telecoms supplier in question and they say that have no record of anything.
Having read the horror stories about capquest I'm not sure what to do next. Does anyone have any suggestions ? Thanks in advance

And it will be statute barred as well, so I would do nothing personally, two weeks time it will be history !!!!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Hello all,
Looking for advice on how to tackle this - I actually came across this thread trying to find contact details for Capquest.
I have only just recently decided to have a look at my credit record and to my great surprise my credit rating is poor. I have never had a problem with obtaining a credit card or phone contract, so this has really shocked me.
Upon digging deeper I realised I have an account with CapQuest marked as 'default'. Account type is listed as 'bank', with account start date of 15/11/2010 and default date of 23/05/2012. I have never had a letter from them, nor a phone call, despite not having changed my address or phone number in years. I have found various letter templates I can send asking to prove the debt is mine, but I don't have any sort of reference from them - where do I start?
Any advice would be much appreciated!

Hi,
You can send the generic "provit letter" to them.
They should be able to identify you by name, address, DOB etc.
But if there not hassling you, why bother now, any specific reason ?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. It is not - the only thing I can think of is my ex taking it out in my name. We did use to live together at the address the default is assigned to.
Six years since the account start date or the default date? How would I contact them if I don't have any details with regards to the account, not a reference number or who it was originally with? Should I reach out?0 -

You would need to report the fraud to the police, get a crime number, and write to the creditor informing them the account is not yours, and reference the crime number.
You would be best waiting till someone writes to you to be honest.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
