Forgot to update my Veggie Box costs for Yesterday. Will do that now. £12.99 I also received a free Organic Semi skimmed milk, oh and I bought some bread and ham today, nearly forgot that. Ham was £2.59 buy one get one free,. the bread was £1 instead of £1.45. So I am pleased with that.

Unless you are in dire straits I would reduce what you normally spend by £100 a month until you get to a comfy amount :)

Helen Jelly I wonder if a lot of people have forgotten that - if paid monthly- it's a 5 weeker?

As for me, a small spend which will update when I have added it, be around £10 I think, need to collate the reciepts as I can't remember it just now.

Am typing this to the delightful smell of the quick easy herby bread recipe posted previously by Angelatgraceland. Anyway I made it VERY sceptically thinking, this'll never work! Well as well as eating the bread I shall be eating my words lol as it's beatuifully risen and browned - about to come out of the oven so I will report back!

Edit***Ok it's out and I couldn't wait to have a heel of it hot out of the oven! I think next time I will reduce the liquid a smidgeon as it is a teeny bit stodgy in middle but other than that am WELL impressed! I also put some garlic pwder into mine as well as the herbs - thinking ahead to do a pesto one...

NSD again today, and I have hit my 10 day target :j

We still have over £100 of our budget left, and plenty of food in stock... so I may manage to stick to my original £200 budget... not going to change it now, but I will definitely put any remaining cash into my savings purse :D Funny because I was talking to one of my colleagues and he didn't think he could feed himself with £50pw, he was absolutely amazed that I could feed 2 adults and 2 children... I may have been a little preachy at him, but he was really interested in any case :rotfl:

Not cooking tonight as we go to a local church group for children, and they provide play, crafts and a free dinner... it's a really good idea, and although I am not of a religious persuasion, my boys seem to have my share of religious faith and they absolutely love it! :heartsmil

  • Hi peeps,

I have 'failed' yet again. However, Iam not too upset as only £16 over which is amazing for me. I need to declare at £416.08 for September and I would like to set October at £477.92, this is for a 5 week month so hoping I can make up for Septembers overspend.

    Hi all,

Made the mistake of taking DD into Mr S to buy a pint of milk this morning and ended up spending £18.48:eek: this did include 2 birthday cards and the makings of a full-on chocolate birthday cake for my Dad,s 70th on friday, she did blag some sweets and drinks though...:o

Creeping closer to my budget and can see it spilling over, bit annoyed with that as I knew the parents were coming at end of the month, so should have budgeted for it:cool:

Got fossilised lamb chops from bottom of the freezer tonight and roasted veg which is looking a bit past its best in the fridge:D

Going to have a read of the goss now, hope your all well xx

    NSD number 13 for me.
Considering I used to pop into the shops almost every day, I cannot believe how fast my whole attitude has turned around!

Been given a bag full of cooking apples and there are plenty more if I want them, the only dilemma is the amount of freezer room verses the chance of more free fruit. I already have the apples that I foraged in there and it is not a big chest freezer. Am now wondering whether I would get away with turning my dining room into a big pantry with another couple of freezers in it:D
