Really need to sort out my freezer, might do that when the kids are in bed later..

  • Well, I have totally blown my budget! I hadn't been trying very hard earlier in the month & then when I went over target last week, I just seem to have settled for a "on well, in for a penny, in for a pound" attitude!

I noticed Farm foods offer on Hovis bread is now 3 loaves for £2 which is even better than before & milk is still 2 for £1.80. I made the chicken in diet coke last night from the recipe index & everybody, including the kids who don't even drink coke, liked it. I also made the weetabix chocolate brownies which were also a success so thanks to both of those original posters!

OH, bless him, went through the freezer for me last night & not only did a contents list for me but has also organised everything really well so I now know where everything is. I need to do a similar thing with the cupboards but am struggling to find the motivation! I did notice however a multiseed bread mix which is BBD of Feb 11 but will presumably be ok?

Less than a week to payday. I hope next month is a lot more successful than this one!

  • Oh well, budget is well and truly out the window and will probably rise even more:mad:

I am now sitting at £294.51/£250:(:(:(

I have no excuse for this, I have meal planned and I have used everything up. I just think I have had one or two treats too many. I did join slimming world last week so I went out and bought loads of extra fruit & veg which did bump me up a touch and some bits that I don't normally have like Mug Shot soup etc so I am blaming that!

I know I have everything in for this week and weekend, will need to see what we have in come saturday and try to do a minimal shop to see me through till the end of the month. We go through tonns of fruit in our house and I refuse to stop my kids grabbing an apple for a snack so I know the majority of next weeks shop will be spent on healthy stuff atleast.

Well best shoot, hope you are all doing better than me :o
    Just little old me!
  • Okay so I have set my budget at £250 for the next 4 weeks starting on friday 23rd. So thats £50 on big shop & approx £10 per week for top up. I have allowed an extra £10 overflow to be used is necessary through the month.

    Hi all,

Didn,t post yesterday been very busy getting the house sorted for our visitors on Friday.

Spent £14.07 at Mr L,s and £1.92 at Mr M,s yesterday, but NSD today.

Am making veggie lasagne for guests on Friday as I thought it would be quick to chuck in the oven and serve with HM colslaw and HM garlic bread - my Dad and SM don,t eat meat, so have been working out what I can cook that we can all eat - I hate serving different meals for everybody and there will be 8 of us for a week

I spent £100 on new duvet covers, sheets, new pillows and mattress protector for the parents arrival, as ours needed updating anyway, the cats have mauled most of them  so looking at it as an investment of sorts (who am I trying to kid:cool:)

Dead washing machine is going to cost £120 to bring it back to life, but at least its cheaper than a new one:) I cannot beleive how much washing there is to catch up on though.....

Hope your all well, off to feed the animals then prepare dinner - sausage and chips as I cannot be bothered to think about anything more elaborate tonight :rotfl:

    Have a fab evening x
Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

  • Hi all,
Ooh well budget is well and truly done for:o. Went to Ic****d as haven't been for ages and had a day off. Bought some unneccessary things like ice cream(6 cones for £1) but also got a 1kg bag of buitonni pasta for £1 which is squirrelled away for the winter (just in case, but who am i kidding the weather up here is likely to be arctic). So another £25 added to my total:eek:.
Though i'm no way near what i hoped i am enjoying the challenge and the thought process that is going into what we buy, as before I just bought willy nilly.
    Hope everyone is doing okay

Spends today £19.20 Mr Ts some of my favorite wine in their wine festival from 5.98 down to what the SEL said was 2.99, however got charged 3.99, I showed the SEL to supervisor who said it was the wrong wine and the barcode did not match however because the wine had been placed incorrectly she would honor the 2.99 price. Some mushrooms, cream and milk and hey ho some more stripy glasses for DD with a small DTD back.
