Morning, My Approved Foods delivery arrived yesterday. Although the babyrice was split open, and the candles were missing. So another call to them today. The delivery was delayed by the driver for DPD going off sick. Anyway although that was paid for on order last week, I forgot to take it off my total so off to do it now.
£41.90 (66.18 saving on the original RRP).When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Hi guys, not been on for a while, need to declare £93 for last week and £60 for this week - eeek!! This puts me up to 281/300 yikes!! But got enough to last dinners wise until the 26th, should only need to buy bread until then.... So, I probably am going to go over slightly, but I'm not going to be too hard on myself seeing as this is my first attempt and I have been routinely spending £500 a month up til now!! Now I've made a few changes and seen such a difference in my spending I'm actually disgusted at myself at how wasteful I used to be!!
This month has been a huge learning curve for me, so hopefully next month I can put all those lessons into practice a bit better and stay on target!!September GC £341/£3000 -

Okay so I have set my budget at £250 for the next 4 weeks starting on friday 23rd. So thats £50 on big shop & approx £10 per week for top up. I have allowed an extra £10 overflow to be used is necessary through the month.
Have T delivery booked for friday with the weeks shopping which comes to £49.02
Will be so pleased if I can stick to this and show hubby at the end of the month how much I've saved.
Been given a big bag of pears too but don't really know what to do with them all, too many to eat, any ideas would be appreciated:)Grocery Challenge 112.20/250.00

hi, i've been using lots of pears, started making belgium pears from cottage smallholder website, you need 5 or six hours for this, and jars to put them in. They are delish. My shelf is now full but the pears kept on coming..
then i peeled, halfed, took out the core with melon baller and cut out the stalk, and as i worked put into a bowl of water with lemon juice in it. When finished, i froze them in portions (2 of us in our house so put 9 halves in a bag). The website i read on said to put citric acid and sugar on them to stop them browning, but i just drained and froze in bags and they have not discoloured while freezing (yet to see if they brown on thawing - might cook from frozen)
and the last lot, i did as above but then cooked up to make stewed pears. Have made a couple of crumbles and the rest in 500g spread tubs in the freezer ready for another day. hth spinmerightaround
today i'm aiming for a nsd, got curry out of freezer for tea.nov grocery challenge, £.227.69/300, 9/25 nsd: , 7 Cmo, 10 egm.

Hello All
I hope everyone is having a good day. Well my total is up at £348.25 so £41.75 to go. I got what I thought was some hm pasta sauce out of freezer ready to make lasagne with later. Turned out to be hm tomato soup. That will teach me not to label things. Correct frozen sauce now found and soup eaten for lunch so no waste.
Off to try and get the iron to work, fingers crossed I can as the phone is on the blink and the Hoover has broken :0(GC Mar 11 £437.08Apr 11 £459.26 May 11 £485.52 June 11 £423.79July 11 £409.22 Aug 11 £250.10Sept 11 £396.14Oct 11 £382.37Nov 11 £372.55Dec 11 £332.29 Jan 12 £375.19:Feb 12 £349.58Mar 12 £279.66Apr 12 £249.12May 12 £337.66/Jun 12 £362.58/Jul 12 £317.03/Aug 12 £354.02/Sept £439.72/Oct 12 £210.160
