Usually as soon as they realise it is a scam they put everything on hold and refund the victim. That's why your case is unusual as they seem to think it was you that sent the payment, that means you need to try and track down how someone got into your paypal account and work backwards from there to get some more evidence for paypal.
Why is the onus on me?! Paypal should be a ble to check that i didn't authorise the transaction as it can't have come from my ip address? I have donevnothing wrong here, no accounts have been broken into as it were, thisis a paypal issue surely?0 -

Surely you have a vested interest in sorting this out, paypal don't. Therefore you need to get something more to go to paypal with as the speed at which they closed the dispute suggests that the log in came from you. Therefore you need to be tracking this back to find something wrong.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Have you had any dealings with this other person before?
I would be very careful sharing any info with them.0 -

You can't 'take' money from a paypal account it can only be 'sent'. Therefore someone accessed your log in details and acted like you sufficiently not to arouse any suspicion from paypal .
Think about odd things that may have happened, all a hacker needs is your password- they already have email address which we use for paypal sign in. A colleague of mine got hacked by someone she annoyed as a rather nasty prank- she had a very high profile hobby, wouldn't stop going on about it and the password was something obvious to do with that. Do you use the same password anywhere else for instance?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. The name rings a bell, i thinki may have bought something from them on ebay in the past, which could be the reason this has happened, i dunno. But i'm giving him no info, and to be fair, my bank card is now cancelled so no more money can be taken qnyway. And once this is sorted i'm closing my paypalbaccounts for good..0 -

I'm just trying to think. Every single one of my passwords are different, this is all so confusing...0 -
Can the other persons computer have been hacked & then that be linked somehow to the OP & their details got that way?
As you can tell, I'm not tech minded.0
