It is worrying that paypal do not consider any fraud has taken place, that must mean that their checks suggest the same IP and log in details were used to make payment.

Is there any one at all, evenm unlikely who migh tknow your log in, or have you by any chance used a PC at a public place like a library or internet cafe?

As above though I would certainly be checkign with Shipley as it seems odd that their payment hasn't gone through.

When you check the payment that has been made where does it go, what do the transaction details say. Lastly, has it come from your paypal balance or is it going to be funded by a bank transfer in to cover?

I've not used my paypal account at a cafe or anything like that and no one else has access to my work pc. The payment went to some bloke whom I've contacted, and he says he's been scammed as well and to contact paypal. I feel sick.........

Through PayPal you should be able to see who the payment went to. If it doesnt show tell them you want to know

Hi, it does show the name of the guy it's supposedly gone to and so I've contacted him and he says he's been scammed too as they used his account to steal from mine then stole £1500 from him also.

Then that sounds like a phish, a scammer has gained your password logged in and paid another person. That person probably then sent goods or even allowed them to be collected, so you've both lost your money.

However, if your payment has been made for 'named goods' then you can charge back for non delivery. It puts the whole loss onto the seller then unfortunately.

this is ridicolous. im sure theres quite a large scale of scamming going on inside paypal because myself and 2 other people on ebay have been scammed by the same person and not one of us are covered but yet they are making the person who's paypal was used to steal money from myself and 2 other pay them back so they will be £1600 up but no-one thats been scammed gets their money back. this company is getting worse and worse by the day but yet they say its the safest method of payment available. what a load of rubbish that is. really hope you get your money back one way or another.
  • why don't you give paypal a call, their number is 020 8605 3000, then it's option 1 to be put through to paypal

It's not widespread it happens incredibly rarely and usually through a phish mail or a hijacked email account.
Many of us have used paypal thousands and thousands of times with no problems whatsoever.

I havent had my email account hijacked, neither have i responded to a phishing email. The mere fact that paypal are being so unhelpful, to me, is indicative of a incredibly bad company. I'm left 695.00 out of pocket and they are refusing to help me!

Usually as soon as they realise it is a scam they put everything on hold and refund the victim. That's why your case is unusual as they seem to think it was you that sent the payment, that means you need to try and track down how someone got into your paypal account and work backwards from there to get some more evidence for paypal.
