Acer Aspire 5535 - Black Screen

I had an Acer a few years back which died in much the same way - went to sleep and never came out.

I tried all the stuff above to no avail then just bought a new laptop.

I stuck the HDD in a caddy and used it as a portable drive, the memory chips were recycled into netbooks (improving their performance markedly).

I gave the remains to my local repair bloke to recycle; as well as the DVD drive and keyboard, he used the screen and inverter in other machines, so the fault was probably on the mobo somewhere. He's still got the case on the off chance that someone brings in a cracked one.

My ACER Aspire Netbook has done this a couple of times. A simple BIOS recovery brought it back to life each time.
