Hi folks
I am trying to help a neighbour whose grandsons have the above laptop. The older one put it to sleep, and when the younger one went to use the machine it would not wake up. They are worried sick as they have been told to look after it by Dad, but to be honest they do not appear to have done anything wrong.
I have been unable to get into anything, even tried connecting it to my monitor, and it behaves as if there is nothing connecting to it. Could it be the video chip has gone?
Thanks
DG

if you have been pressing a lot of buttons it may be worth attempting to start in safe mode. Also try it with the battery out running on mains adaptor.0

I will try with the battery out, but nothing in any usb ports nor anything in the cd tray. I cannot even get into the boot menu tried F2, F12, F8 but no response.

OK tried with the battery out, and it gives me the green power light, and the on switch has lit up green, but that is it. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club

Take the battery out and leave the laptop for around 24hours that might sort the problem out.0

I advised that over the phone, and it has been done, and still no change. Starting to fear it will be the video chip on the motherboard. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club

Does the HDD light flash up on boot or does only the Power light come on?
If so then it appears that the HDD is not functioning - maybe it wasn't put to sleep properly and then was dropped (still on) and it has damaged the HDD.
