Also won't let me download bittorrent applications like Vuze.

Been having trouble on and off all day, it comes and goes and it's a right pain in the bum.
  • I have been experiencing disconnection from Monday through to this morning (Wed) when it came back on.

This happened to me two weeks ago (when I posted on here) also on a Monday/Tuesday.

I am an ex Tiscali customer who has not bought into TTs broadband package but am still on the old Tiscali one and they have been trying to get me to sign up for Talk Talk Plus. I have resisted and I keep getting disconnected.

When I ring Technical Support I can't get through, so I ring Sales where they have told me it's probably my router and they can provide me with a free router if I sign up to.................yes, you've guessed it........Talk Talk Plus.

Are they trying to sell to you?

    Already on TT plus.
Don't get long disconnections but it's annoying
unplug router, leave for a minute, plug back in
    and bingo.
It's also very slow sometimes and am going to
have to pluck up the courage to ring them.
Why won't it let me download bit torrent
    applications like Vuze?

    Fair use policy?
What's that got to do with downloading
    an application?
    Or slow speeds or disconnections?
I don't download much to start with.

We were with Tiscali and never signed a TalkTalk contract and for the past 4-5 months now we've had completely unreliable internet access. It started just being every Sunday we weren't able to connect until about 7pm or 8pm (if we were lucky it would be mid-afternoon!) then at the start of July it got worse and we weren't able to connect often Saturday mornings and in some weekday evenings. Then occasioanlly it started disconnecting during the day. At this point we contacted TT and typically they gave us a list of things to do/check and then told us they couldn't support us without one of their designated routers, typical. We replaced all the ADSl micro-filters we had and did everything else on the list and of course it made no difference.

At the moment (touch wood) it's better than it was a few weeks ago and is now just often disconnected on Sundays and sometimes late evening/overnight. We have several routers so had already tried these and it made no difference, we've given up now on what else we can do.

    Hi All,

If any TalkTalk customer are experiencing issues such as BB disconnection or slow speeds we can investigate into these issues and provide account based support on the TalkTalk Members Forum.

With regards to the downloading of torrents if this is via a Peer2Peer application then download speeds may be restricted at peak times of day as part of the fair use policy.

    Regards

Why can't your customer services sort it out without customers having to complain on a forum, Talk Talk or this one?

Having already been in contact with TT Customer Services we've been told we can have no further support from TT because we're not using one of their supported routers. Clearly the problem has nothing to do with the router as we've tried several and we experience the same problems.

What we did find however was that on the TalkTalkMembers.com service dashboard our exchange is shown as having limited availability and awaiting capacity increase. Hence, where we expect the problem with our service lies.
