Help please just returned from turkey to find out my thirteen year old sons phone was not turned off to mobile roaming with t mobile and they are charging us £2000 pounds any advice anybody else been stung like this .

Firstly Why has a 13 year kid got a contract phone?

Secondly, to sum it up quickly you are stuffed, the best you can hope for is that T Mobile reduce it as a gesture of goodwill, as being turkey there are no cut off limited required by the network

Well, it is abut using. The OP claims that the data roaming was just not turned off.

However, £2K equals to about 270Mb of data. It's hard to believe that it was just a background usage, not the active browsing/streaming by the OP's son.

Yes been here and done it speak to the company they may knock off a little due to goodwill gesture, but don't expect it to be much.

It's a hard lesson to learn and one you wont forget.

Why does a 13 year old need a mobile phone in Turkey? There have been several TV programmes about this and subscribers have never got their money back....even when Watchdog got involved. Best to get roaming switched off before leaving the UK.
