  • Ok, so next 'goal' is to save up enough to pay my tax before 31st Jan so I don't have to dip into my ISA to take the money out.

I already have the money in the ISA, but I'd rather not have to withdraw it...

So, first payment of £21 today towards the £3,117.90 I need

  • So, saving is going pretty well, almost up to £1k of the ~£3.1k I need.

Need to save around £40 per day to hit the target though and only 2 paydays remaining!

  • Quick update!

Just over £2.5k saved now for the tax payment due end of this month, should easily do it with a payday left before I need to make the payment - which means I can leave the savings I made already for the payment safely in the ISA :)

Increased my pension contributions via salary sacrifice considerably too, which will start this month. Making the most of my higher rate tax status.

Also in the process of setting up the First Direct 8% regular saver for both me and my missus, which will put £600 a month direct into savings.

    Getting there.

  • The First Direct savers are setup and the first 2 x £300 paid :)

Had to use £600 of what I'd put aside to offset the tax savings in the ISA, but glad I set them up anyway.

Haven't had a beer or a cigarette so far this year either (they go hand in hand for me!) :T

  • Payday so I've paid the freelance tax - I'm now £3,117.90 lighter!

First higher payment to the company pension too, so £400 gone into that this month.

Still not had a beer or a cigarette, doing well :D

Next target to is try and fill the remainder of my cash ISA allowance before the end of this tax year (April 5th) - need £2,070.55 to max it out.
