Thats an awesome amount you've managed to reduce it by. You'll definately be debt free by xmas the way you're going!
    DEBT TOTAL: £7609.44
  • Just had a nosey through your diary!

Well done again on the debt reduction! Seems you have worked really hard for it.

Also well done with the beer, I use a diary online that adds up money and calories - don't know which is scarier (only signed up coz of Swagbucks)!!

Just thought I would pop over and say hello as I don't always comment on people's diaries as I don't often have much useful to add but sometimes its nice to read a comment all the same I suppose.
    PAID OFF FEB 2014 - £62.00
    PAID OFF MAR 2014 - £53.54
    PAID OFF APR 2014 - £47.00
    PAID OFF MAY 2014 - £62.80
  • Cheers ruby - I appreciate it when anyone takes the time to read my ramblings :)

Of the 3 car related things that are due in the next couple of months (tax, insurance & breakdown) I've just bought my breakdown cover - AA for £74 for the policy I want and hopefully £42 cashback to get from that. I switch between AA & RAC each year to get new customer/online/cashback deals.

Also going on holiday on Friday for a week with the family... whatever's left of the money I've saved for spending will go towards the debts.

As always I've been working hard on the freelance stuff :)

  • Woo, payday! :)

Enjoyed the holiday with the kids - spent far too much but was worth it.

    Under the [STRIKE]£4k[/STRIKE] £3k milestone now ;)

Just bought my car tax and my insurance is due in 3 weeks - for the first time ever I will be buying it in full and not paying it off monthly with added interest!

A bit of a reformed character if I do say so myself :A

You are doing brilliantly, and it looks like you will be debt free for Christmas, next year perhaps you can slow down a bit with the freelance and live a little - nice to see that you had a good holiday.
  • Thanks tootallulah - I'll definitely be slowing down as now I've earned so much via the freelance work to start paying class 4 NICS as well. I already pay 40% tax on ALL of it, don't really want to pay another 9% as well... not worth it! Will put the time back into the family and make up the time lost :)

Well, all of my yearly car payments have now been sorted. Got a very good price for my insurance and put it on a 0% purchases card instead of paying it monthly at 20% or whatever ridiculous APR they charge.

Looking forward to next payday as I should be under the £2k milestone. Ideally I'd like to have paid off 90%, but that would require only £1,657 to be left which is a bit of a stretch.

    Here's hoping though!

Under the £1.5k and over 90% paid off milestone now ;)

I'd like to hope it would be clear by next pay day... but it's likely to be the payday after (21st November).

  • Wow InsertWittyName! Reading your diary has given me a proper kick up the backside. You are doing amazingly well. Can only imagine what it must feel like to (hopefully) be just one payday away from being debtfree.

You'e going to have such an awesome Christmas knowing that... and hopefully I'll be in a similar place this time next year.
