Been a while since I last updated, but that's only because I've been so busy!

Just paid the last off the CC - now owe nothing on any CC's and just have the (rather large) consolidation loan to pay back now.

Had quite a few freelance payments though and I've thrown most of the cash at the debt - really am maxed out at the minute.

Also got a promotion at work and a healthy raise to go with it :)

Hoping to be owing less than £9k next update, though ideally it'll be less than £8.5k...

    Must. Update. More. ;)

Freelance work is still taking up all my time - although I did get chance today to ring H@lifax to close the CC I just paid off.

I've had it 11 years (it was my first ever CC) and the APR is a massive 29.9%.

Got put through to the retention dept and they were literally throwing everything at me to try and keep it!

Finally ended up with converting it to a H@lifax Reward Clarity card with an APR of 17.9%, same limit (near £6k) and a £5 bonus per month if I spend £300 on it!

Also offered a 0% balance transfer offer for 9 months but I don't have any CC debt left to transfer :D so declined that bit.

Paperwork should be here in the next few days and should hopefully all go smoothly.

I don't blame them though for offering me a deal - I put a massive amount of money (day job and freelance) through all my accounts with H@lifax and I have 2 current accounts, 3 savings 'pots', an ISA (full with tax savings for HMRC :rotfl:), 2 credit cards and a mortgage with them.

In a previous post this month I said that I'd like to get under £9k this month, stretch target of £8.5k. It's looking good and at a push (i.e. some payments come on time!) I might be able to break £8k :T

5 days and counting until payday :j

Received a £700 tax refund cheque yesterday :)

Put it in the bank today so should clear next Friday - will be paying it straight towards the loan of course!

I paid the £700 plus another £300 off the loan :)

Made a few other (smaller) payments to it too - as always I'm really busy with the freelance stuff and paying it all off the loan.

Next milestone is less than £5k owing! Worst thing is, I think there's no other milestones after that apart from £0 :)
