    Hi :j
Thanks Hex - nice that you remembered me! How are things with you?

Yes, still surrounded by shoes in the flat (still neatly boxed under the bed) and boxes of them in my sister's loft, er... and bags of them in my daughter's conservatory (well, I had to save something!). Yes, the story of the insurance company/loss adjusters/contractors is like something from those Homes From Hell programmes on TV! Ombudsman here we come! Truly could not make up some of the things that have happened. We're going back to the Forest (fibro - I'm about 10 miles from you) this week and hopefully we should get the house back - mind you, we've been saying that every fortnight since Easter :(

Congrats LL, I wish you a happy life

Fireguard now installed, baby DS and DD have been banging it making things very noisey around here!
    Car seat installed.

Ended up clearing DD's room a lot which was unplanned, but I sold something of hers on Netmums, and now I've gone to move it I found the battery cover was missing, so had to clear through the carp on the floor. :eek:Didn't find it, so have had to send the lady a message. Hope she still wants it. I bet it turns up the daf after we get rid of it.
On the upside I chucked a carrier bag worth of stuff out of her room.

Also had to pop to Sainsburys to collect an order. It seems to take longer than if I were to shop for it.

GoodIntentions - was it you who was talking about preparing invoices in case they were needed, but if they weren't just using them for your accounts? I attended a small business course once where the tutor suggested that invoices should always be presented when the work was completed - as actually people then often felt they should pay there and then - is it worth you doing that every Friday? On the flip side I know that one of my colleagues has to book and pay for her child care for the month in advance - and give a certain amount of notice for holidays - it's easy to offer advice when you're not dealing with people yourself - but do you think you could come up with a few (not too many) T&Cs?

Thanks. The one that hasn't paid is the only one I have issued an invoice to! (by email, to save on a paper mountain). I asked if she had received the email (invoice 2/9 in the subject title) & she said she had, but hadn't opened it yet (seen it on her phone). if she doesn't offer me any money monday morning when she drops her kids off, I will print a copy off & hand it to her when she picks them up. not a fantastic start, but hopefully just a blip. i am too soft/trusting :o

Need to keep tidying up the mess my parents left behind (how does that happen, they were only here for a few hours).

Payback??!! I plan to do it to my kids when they leave home :rotfl:

Lady-Liberty - fantastic news!! :j It did bring a tear to my eye reading your post :) I hope you will both be very happy for as long while to come x

Ok. Art this morning decluttered. I am not going next week as DD1 is going back to Uni, and has told us we will need to take 2 cars
Stripped bed this morning, washed, dried and back on bed (hopefully - DH was doing it & I haven't checked yet!), another load of washing done & on the line. Meal plan done (with input from all of us :)) & shopping done, with help from DD2. DW loaded. That's about it I think :o

DH seems to be having a bit of trouble with the BD :( It is work-related stress. he has only been back at work for 4 days!! He didn't sleep well (the smoke alarm deciding it needed a battery change at 2.30 am didn't help ). He is constantly close to tears :( He said he felt like crying at work, and had to disappear off to the toilet just for some time out! He has been helping DS build an engine (a kit he got for his birthday) & they have now taken the dog for a walk. I don't know what to do for him. I don't think I have ever seen him this bad :( Sorry - just needed to tell someone :o

Ok. I am going to reorganise some cupboards in the kitchen, and hopefully fling some stuff! :D I may even start dinner while I am there!

Goodintentions - that is exactly why we have agreed some time off for my DH, whatever the cost to us. i have been there myself and have two boys to show for it. Maternity leave had to be better than work surely?
Jassa - I remember everything I have read  Telling me things is a completely different matter :rotfl:

Lovely party... The birthday boy thoroughly enjoyed being spoiled and eating chocolate cake :)

Am now shattered. I was there for 4 hours, 5 hours out of the house. Need to summon up the energy ton find something to eat, and then lie on the sofa and read until I can justify feeding the dog and going to bed (usually 10pm). I really don't know how I'm going to cope with work next week :( jet lag and intense 12 hour days won't be easy.

ETA - congrats to LL & Tris. So nice to heat such wonderful news.

Jassa  I remember you, but must have missed the posts about what happened to your house. Hope that this time things get moving for real.
Goodintentions - sorry that your DH is feeling so low. Is there an alternative to the work he's doing at the moment?
Sharon - glad to hear you sound much brighter.
Lady-Liberty - lovely news! I wish you both all the best and hope that you get to start your new life as soon as possible.
Mrs B - you've made really good progress. Sounds like the kind of event DS2 and I would like to come to. Shame we're too far away.

I've not had the most productive day, but some stuff got done. I'm in OH's bad books now because we couldn't agree where to go this lunch time. His choice was either a town centre or shopping centre and I would have preferred a park or similar. Don't need anything from shops and have very little spare cash this month, so a nice walk in the sunshine and a cuppa in a cafe would have been lovely, but we couldn't agree. I did take DS2 to the park for a little while, but he hurt his thumb and wanted to come home.

OH went to his committee meeting about an hour ago and won't be back until 1am - I'm supposed to meet him in the pub at 11pm if I babysitting arrangements work out. DS1 is out somewhere doing something involving music. I think I'll hop in the bath while DS2 entertains himself for a bit. List update first, though.

bully DS1 into applying for jobs
send work e-mails once I can attach documents  still can't!
laundry - towels left to do
    set up calendar
    de-flea cat
forms for OH (DVLA and permitted work)
nag DS1 to look for card wallets for Disney cards
    school to-do list
    check uniform for DS2
[STRIKE]take car for check-up Sat 1pm[/STRIKE] needs new clutch
    check my clothes for Monday
    contact DS2’s TA/childminder
collect DS1’s national insurance card (don’t ask)
    child benefit/tax credit phone calls
    sort folder for DS1’s certificates
    cancel two insurances (not needed)
sort OH’s prepayment cert for meds
    [STRIKE]Euros for DS1 [/STRIKE]
cancel buildings and contents insurance (Saving £10 a month compared to last year and £20 compared to renewal) :money:

Well it's been a busy day, at my sister's we've done the following
sorted through baby clothes for there age group
moved newborn-3 months clothes to bedroom
    moved craddle into bedroom
    cleared and cleaned nursery out
moved 2 beds to spare room
made up other spare room incase my mum needs to stay
moved everything from under stairs to spare room
set pram up and moved it to under stairs
took down one of the dinning tables and moved it to spare room
moved playpen and bouncer to livingroom
    finished all washing
cleared out hot press and put all away nicely
cooked dinner for everyone and made some extra for sister
    cleared livingroom
    brushed all floors
    sorted nappy box
    form filling

    I'm totally shattered now....:rotfl:
BIL had to be knocked out today for the doctors to put a few stitches in which they will tighten a little every day. So he's heading the right road. Sister and mum went up to see him so me and OH just got on with all, she seems happy to have it done. I also got her to ring the landlord so he knows what has happen and didn't realise the people who were suppose to sort the fireplace and oil hadn't been. He's promised to get them out ASAP and he'll also fill out the HB form (sister did tell me they were 5 weeks behind so that will need to be caught up at some point).

Right time to throw some kids to bed, then i'm gonna dye my hair and get a long soak..:D
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.
