i dont want to be the voice of doom, but working for the local authority (in their lesiure centre) is not the civil service, the civil service is central government, not local government....0

Puddy is correct and you need to change it, but you can advise them you are a Local Government employee, assuming you have a Council contract of employment.0

And how do they cope before they pass their test?
They use "Mum & Dad Taxis Unlimited".This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Dont think you are either of these, doesnt it give you the option to select lifeguard under occupation then local government under employer or industry0

            I'd have said
 Lifeguard
 Sports Centre,
and try ringing CSIS to see if you can get a deal as it's a council sports centre.0

Either the don't work, or get the school bus.
Then they leave school, and get a job, which they can't then get to, or they go to sixth form, and don't get a pass for the school bus anymore, and have to find their own way there.
Fair enough though, they could all stay at home and claim off the state.0

Nah, I don’t think kids can claim off the state until they get to 21 (or maybe even 25) unless they have kids of their own.
I think it’s part of the Big Society idea, parents are responsible for the every need of their offspring until you can persuade the little [STRIKE]bug gers[/STRIKE] darlings to fly the nest.
The days of 17 year olds being financially self sufficient, car owning members of society have disappeared.0

 Mine does it.
At to others, you can get JSA at 18, if you can't afford to get to work.0
