church or civil service?

Pretty much sums up my OH's reasoning.

We're not religious at all, it did shock my family that we weren't getting married in a church or having a blessing in a church because everyone else has been married in a church.

Basically if you believe in God and want that as part of your vows, go for it.

I personally think me getting married in a church would make my vows a bit of a lie, but that's because I'm not religious BUT I would never be against anyone wanting to get married in a church, it is their decision at the end of the day and if they wish to be married in a church in front of God then let it be.

How about....

A civil ceremony and then a blessing in your church? That way you get the church bit into it?
