The more help smokers get to stop, the better, but in the mean time, the government profits so if they can get them cheap-great.

The purpose of the trip is to get cheap fags. Gaudi , Dali and Las Ramblas may be another day.

Cyprus is in the E.U however Northern Cyprus is under the control of the Turkish goverment, and given that Turkey is'nt part of the E.U, it to is'nt in the E.U, fascinating fact coming up, do you know you cant fly direct from northern cyprus to the U.K amazing eh?

Regarading the new ascension states, there are limits, however these will need to be addressed this year, because the vast majority of them joined the E.U on 1st May 2004, and they will be full fiscal members by 1st May 2007, this will probably mean the respective goverment will rise the duty on their cigs etc.

As previously stated dont get caught out do your research and check the guidelines or limits before you go, I've lost count of the amount of people who told me they thought they could have what they want because they are british etc etc. So if in doubt look on our website and https://www.hmrc.gov.uk or ask a friendly customs officer for a notice one.

ok, you will pay around £18 all over mainland spain, you can only buy fags from tobacos shops now, now where else is allowed to sell them. Customs recommend 3600 fags for your personal use only(ie 18 cartons each) more than that and they can take all of them off you. Canaries you can only have 200 cigs and cost about £11, but flights will cost more.

Try torremolinos its close to malaga airport, theres a few tobaccos shops, can get hb hotels for about 15pp per night try las palomas hotel its not bad(alpha rooms does it).

I think Spain is the cheapest too. Just returned from Italy and paid around 43 euros per carton (menthols are always more expensive) but still cheaper than here.

mainland spain girona or alicante would be best but stil around £2o/ 200 limit is 16 cartons per person do not mix with tobacco or cigars and no more than one brand really. i suggest these towns as if your on a real budget you wont need long taxi rides to a shopping area https://www.skyscanner.net will find tour best flight; i believe it will probably rom liverpool if you can get there.
