    Hello everyone,

was wet and windy weather wise here too today. Am I glad for good central heating! Think we're due a little light snow overnight on thursday, so hopefully it will all have melted by the time we go to work - don't like driving in the snow

Another steady day today - plenty of people about, and lots of work to do, so passes the time nicely :T Tea is on, and will be putting on the WM again soon, so the evening should pass really quickly too (especially if I stay on here too long) :p

Got a craft catalogue through the post the other day (not that I need any encouragement!) and saw something called a 'loopa' advertised which is for making scarves - apparantly you can make a scarf in minutes. It was in with all the knitting accessories. Its' a whole 'no knitting necessary' thing like a hairpin for crochet, and you must just literally make loops together to make the scarf. Instructions come with it apparantly :) I have to admit it looks quite fun and inexpensive - and would be safe in the hands of a non-knitter like me! (crochet is more my thing) :o Oh well, we'll see what happens...all my family will know if I buy it if they all start getting scarves....watch out twink and kyle! :rotfl: Also saw too many things that just 'looked nice' :D

Valentine - glad to hear that the scan went well :j Enjoy telling people now!

*hugs* to stormybay, and crazychicks exFIL, and Queenies friend, and all the poorly people - hope the chicken pox isn't itching like mad!

also *hugs* as usual to everyone else - take or leave as you please...

Glad your mind at rest. Hopefully school chaplaincy was right for her today. Glad to hear you could face your ex-colleagues. I remember when my Dad died I wanted people to say things but didn't - if you know what I mean. I kept my head down, mumbled and avoided eye contact but I was so glad they expressed their feelings for me.

Had my friend losing full term plus baby just before Christmas. Sent her a card to say we were thinking of her and bless her, I got an e-mail to say thank you and then I felt able to phone her. She was so pleased I did because loads of folk she felt was avoiding her. We are having lunch soon - not easy but the right thing to do. I have to face the feelings as well and goodness knows where she gets the strength from. I am just glad she knows I am here for her. I think I will let her take the lead - as much talking as she feels she can do. Am I right? I hope so.

    Take care.

    love

GB i think you are right, she probably just wants someone to talk to who doesnt feel as thought they have to avoid the subject.I went to two of my friends babys funerals, it was one of the hardest things i have ever been through, but my friend thanked me as even her mum and dad tried to change the subject when it was brought up, as they thought it would upset her when infact it was what she need to do, let her feelings out.
I think you are a wonderful friend and are doing everything you can to help at this upseting time.Donnaxx

Ive seen this before on Creat & Craft, it does look, and looks so easy, Im like you, I'd rather crochet, but I picked up a kids set of knitting at Christmas for DD, came with a ball of wool, thick needles & destructions - erm instructions. I had a go, I was really impressed, however, the shape was nothin like a hat, so I transformed it into a bag. DD loves it, so I brought another set, and got better at my 2nd attempt.

Let me know how you get on if you decide to buy & try!

Shameless series 4 starts tonight on Channel 4, cant wait! So thats me sorted for the evening!

Good night all - take care

Hello again Stormy, I'm glad the day went well for you and your DD.

My DH has just had me on a website looking at semi naked firemen! I was supposed to be looking for a latin translation but that's what came up instead. Only he could phone me from work asking me to translate I came, I saw, I tore the barstewards limb from limb. Two years of latin and all I can remember is Amo Amas Amant!
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Hi all, had a hard day today, kids up to dr's today, ds1 fine but ds2 was up seeing asthma nurse confirming his asthma, was a shock to actually get it confirmed, she explained all about asthma, the inhalers and what will happen if he doesnt take them, basically straight talking, he needs a preventer twice a day and a reliever when he needs it, school has been informed as he needs to carry it everywhere.

He has had probs ever since he was 1, knew it was coming but still in a state of shock, already have a lot to deal with ds1 with his diabetes, to learn we have another child with a long term condition.

Anyway bit calmer now, have been keeping myself busy today, cleaned all of upstairs today, dusted, hoovered, cleared out bedrooms of rubbish, made beds etc.

DH put up our tv in the bedroom, but was struggling trying to get the tv link working, got it sorted though:D

Bread made, will tackle the bathroom and kitchen tomorrow:rolleyes:

    Hugs to all

    Hi Moggins

Take us too the hulks! Firemen are wonderful! What a job they do - I don't think they get the credit. They sometimes have to bear more with tragedy that the police (as do the paramedics). They all do a wonderful job.

Seriously there are some of us wanting a bit of support tonight and my thoughts are with you all.

I just think of you all now as an extended family and I just hope the sentiments expressed by us all kind of help. I think all the tips are fantastic but I think the love and support so much more. Do you think we sometimes give our innermost thoughts to folk we haven't met, but we need to bring them out, means so much.

Goodness, I am getting maudlin - 2 days back at work has its effects. However, I can't believe the support on this forum - you are all fab (apart from folk who question the shopping bargains!).

    Hugs and kisses again.
