  • Lovely smells coming from the slow cooker - just put the tatties on to boil so not much longer now, am hoping that everyone likes the food from the slow cooker it's been so much easier today not having to cook as such. Planning to make soup in it tonight as have bags of onions to be used.
Going to give the kids dinner then early bath and bed for them - DS has second day at nursery tomorrow and is already saying that he is not going so think we will need all our energy in the morning - can feel a battle coming on.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's somebody who poses as a prostitute and then runs off with the bloke's money without doing the business.

What a nice lady that Jackiey is. Sure that she's really nice in real life.

Mega ((((hugs)))) to Queenie and Stormy

Another day of work today, and the school have asked me back to cover the same class tomorrow because I've done so well! So, by my reckoning that's 4.5 days of work that I've got this week which means that I will be able to pay February's rent, assuming that I keep this level of work up though. Apparently, just before Christmas they had to send a supply teacher home half way through the morning because she was so terrible so I almost feel honoured. ;)

On the way back home, I popped into a garden centre and picked up a couple of nice pots for some indoor plants. They're currently in plastic ones that are splitting - mmmmmmmmm, classy :D - so I decided that it was time to upgrade. I'll hopefully have a repotting session tomorrow night.

DH has also announced to me - via text today - that he is going to be in Spain next week for 3 nights, with work. That's great, but I've already got a menu plan done for 2 people, so it'll have to change....... Fish and chips one night, chinese the next and indian the next?:D Okay, maybe not. :D I've got some single portion bits and pieces in the freezer, which will keep me going. I might pop down to the chippy on one evening......

We've got chicken stir fry for supper this evening. I love it because we always pack it out with loads of veggies that it makes us feel soooooo healthy!

Anyway, I've rambled on for long enough!

:D had a lovely lunch with my mum and dad and whilst my mum is definetely not right yet (she has lost weight and there was nothing on her before  ) she was much better - she really feels the cold though (probably cos she has no weight) so she wore her little woolley hat throughout the meal:rotfl:and we were sat next to a big roaring real fire :o

I had a mezze plate which was mostly houmous pittas feta cheese salad and some prawns:T gorg

My dad is desperate to book a holiday to Sharm el sheik (I went last year and i know they will love it) but hes insisting on booking through brochures rather than on line (still doesnt trust this tinternet thingy:rotfl: ) anyway he has agreed reluctantly to have a look at some of the deals on last minute. com but whether he will book or whether it will be back to thomson brochure is another question:rolleyes:

On the way back from lunch I stopped at hobby craft and the wool i bought for my scarf last year (Sirdar Boa its called i think its absolutely gorgeous but a !!!!!! to knit with:rolleyes: ) was in the sale from 2.50 to 49p :T so I bought 3 balls in white 3 in a lovely pastel blue and white and some bright pink so thats 3 really lovely scarfs for 1.50 each (my mum is getting one for sure to keep her a bit warmer!!) either that or I may just do one scarf for mum and save the rest to knit queenie with:D :D

right a glass of wine is calling me thinks

No, no, it's fine to admit that - you see, ( :shhh: nor am I :silenced: ) and when the urge (hormonally driven) does strike, it's either Galaxy or Lindt 85% ... but I say again FR's mean "Christmas" and I sacrifice myself accordingly :p

    evening all
another enforced day off today as 10yo dds other ear burst this morning - we got antibiotics yesterday from the doctor who showed me her bulgy ear drum - yuck - but it was obviously too late
I had a restless night too as i started a wine kit the other day and put it in the bedroom where it started fermenting in the wee small hours - took me ages to work out what the noise was :D i've moved it downstairs where it is plopping away happily - only 27 days to go!
eldest dd has jacked in her job - she started before christmas and it sounded very dodgy to me - a sort of a stall in supermarkets and shopping centres selling kids videos for a marketing company which doesn't even have a website and pays her cash in hand. It was sort of ok before christmas but she hasn't made rent for a couple of weeks now and her landlady (me) is not happy. She was leaving the house at five am and getting in at tenpm so i called her at lunchtime and suggested she take the stuff back to the office, come home and register for JSA tomorrow. Her dsis has called to say that there are jobs in ASDA near us so she is going to try there on the way home.
Have spent the day flying through the kitchen and only have the freezer to defrost. Have also soaked and boiled some beans for the freezer and made lentil bolognaise for tonight and snuggled under the poorly quilt with dd.
She and I have eaten the whole of the loaf i made last night in the form of toast and marmalade - what pigs!
Exdh birthday today and we are giving him a tea on friday. He has suggested Shameless dvd for present but i've seen the price so he can just think again! Instead we are getting him a winemaking kit between us

Good Evening All - Hope we are well

Stormybay what can I say! Im so sorry for your loss, and I hope that DD survived the day ok, Im sure she'll be brave, but at least you'll be there for her. Christmas must have been really hard - beyond what I could ever imagine. Please stay on the daily thread with us, we are great people, and there are plenty of "virtual" friends to offer you support.

Nelski, let me tell that our neighbour, she is not the nicest person to have a round, she is making life difficult for another neighbour aswell as DLB. Witch is a polite word for her, but that's what we all call her! Its not nice for anyone to put people into catergories like she did "council type person", DLB and myself are so looking forward for the day when the council comes and hopefully removes the fence to make it safe in DLB's garden.

I too watched big brother last night, its a shame Ken left, and Jacki is so doing my head in, I would have lamped her one by now. Think Jade is embarressed by her mum, but they are both just as bad. Her grandparents were so lovely.

My car's heater/fan wouldn't work this morning, and the air con button kept clicking, when I tested that. I couldn't get in touch with my usual mechanic, So when I went to work, I asked our "service" desk if they could investigate, let me know what the problem & cost is - and again - they did the work without me saying so! So - I dont know how much that bill's going to be now. Shouldn't be much as they replaced the connection! And staff discount, it should be reasonable. I hope

OH just done quick snack for tea, grilled bacon, scrambled eggs, beans and toasted muffins.

He's just had to unblock the WM again, a leaf was blocking the pipe, causing the excess water in the drum. Its sorted now, so can carry on with washing.

Uniforms been ironed for work/school tomorrow, just got to sort out clean bedding and get that ironed ready for changing again at the weekend.

Had a text from my EX today, his dad has been ill over Xmas, and when I saw him last week (after the hospital visit) he was very weak & unsteady on his legs, anyway, he went to the hospital today, had various tests done, and its shown he's suffered a mild stroke. Bless him - Ive got a lot of time for my exFIL. Just hope he's ok

Anyway, best be off, and crack on before its bath time.
Take care all - love as usual xxx

Hello everybody, thank you all for the hugs and kind wishes, just popped in to say that DD3 was fine in school. I phoned at anout half 11 and all was well.
I went to Hubby's doctors to take back a diabetic testing kit and a blood pressure kit we had loaned and the receptionist asked how he was!!!
It's wierd because I feel sorry for everyone else when I tell them the sad news and end up comforting them.

I went to Asda and had a coffee with some ex-workmates, it was fine, although I felt ill going in there having to face everyone, but it's done now.

I'm going out to lunch on thursday with my own work team, I think that will be a good idea as I will have seen them before I go back to work next monday.

DD3 has brought a letter home from school for a camp she's going to at the end of the month.........£80.00!!!!!!!!!! for 3 days.

Thanks once again for all the kindness,

    Stormy
