A stressy week so really hoping it calms down over the weekend. Actually it will calm down!
DD is still umming and aahring about what direction to take and that is causing us all sleepless nights.
Anyway at least things are more straight forward with the rest of my brood.
It is pouring with rain and I have been out to get some milk - Milk monster, aka DS2, has been drinking it again. Im not surprised though as he probably needed it to settle his tummy last night after he ate Kung Po chicken. It smelt, looked and tasted like an acid bath but he ate a huge plate of the stuff as celebration for his GCSE results.
Back to OS this weekend with home made food and cakes planned. Im really needing to economise in the run up to Christmas shush........
Hugs to those who are poorly xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
:eek:Molly41...I'll pretend you never mentioned that word yet:eek:.
Trying to keep myself motivated to not end up all day on the laptop:o
So it goes off in a mo.
Have been sticking to showering and dressing with my family in the morning even though I'm at home as it seems to mean I don't waste as much of my day. I've already been for a 4 mile walk and picked up passport forms from th PO and managed to spend any money in the shops:T. Have swept the floors everywhere, emptied the D/W and W/M , tidied the kitchen, tidied the spare room desk. Now am off to clean the bathroom, dust throughout and then do 20 mins on the cross trainer. OH is out on a works night out bowling and a meal and DD will be at her friends so I am having a lazy night in alone watching what I want on TV or DVD and eating something terrible like chips:D.
Building myself up for shopping trip with DD in Edinburgh tomorrow.. I know it will be hard going as we're underwear shopping which she hates as she really hates her chest ( she is a rather large cupsize for her age and petite frame:eek:) Nevermind we'll go somewhere nice for lunch and maybe catch a film at the art house cinema too.
Just found a couple of notes she failed to give us from school...a trip to see an exhibition and spend time at an art workshop with the artist which she will absolutely love, not too bad £8. The other is for the Higher History Trip to Barcelona she wants to go on which is £500:eek: Plus spending money. I think she may get lots out of it though as also go to some of the art galleries ( great for her art history and she really wants to see Guernica in real life) and also she's taking higher Spanish so she'll get to practice that in readiness for her aural exam. This is on top of the life drawing classes we just paid for that are £25-£40 a term and her DofE expedition coming up.... it's all adding up, thank goodness we only have one child:rotfl:Grocery challenge October: £228.28/£250.00 NSD 4 ( not completed)
Grocery challenge November : £291.65/300.00 NSD 10
Grocery challenge December : £0/240.00 NSD0 -
Hi
I've been lurking on the old style board for 12 months and think it's finally time I stepped out of the shadows. I'm a mummy of a little girl and work full time (despite what some people have said in the past - i work to keep a roof over my girl's head and food in her tummy, of course if money wasn't an issue I would be at home)
This forum has helped me more than words can say from building up a store cupboard, meal planning, reducing our grocery spend and we have started growing a variety of fruit and veg. Last winter we saved a fortune on our utility bills - yes i sat in a wooly hat and drank coffee from a thermos of left over hot water but it was money in my pocket not theirs!
Hope to drop in again soon. Thank you to all those who have been a great help without even knowing it x0 -

Afternoon Everyone,
What's going on? we're on page 2:eek: thought I'd do a quick post & put us back where we belong
Another Typhoid Mary here, been really poorly the last 2 days with some sort of stomach bug.
DS did better than expected in his exams so he is on a bit of a high at the moment but still need to decide what to do next, he is so layed back it's driving me mad, so am sending him off to his dad's for the weekend.
DD2 has asked me to make a christening cake for lo for next Sunday  it's not the cake bit I'm worried about it's the decorating. Still if necessary have still got DGS1 cake topper & bits so may have to use them as we are more skint than usual & have to find the petrol money to go to wigan for the christening:eek:
Dsis has just phoned & she + her 2 girls & my Dad are coming to visit on Tuesday, haven't seen them yet this yearso something to look forward to.
Right am off to investigate sugarpaste tutorials.
Hope all poorlies feel better soon x
Hugs spoons & hi5's all round x

It's only a bargain if you were going to buy it anyway!0 -
Thanks for the chicken mite advice Bargainbird and NPM.
I have treated them with diatom powder that we had left from our chickens so hopefully they will have a more comfortable time until their owners come home and can get rid of the mites completely.
Get well soon to all the poorly people.0 -
Afternoon all!
I am illnot sure whats up but have realised i ate some sausages yesterday that may have been past their best.
The first cottage has gonebut i think the location was too far out - i'm home alone so much i think i'd get cabin fever a bit.
The 2nd cottage - although it says no parking, i work in the area, and there is a few spaces in the road as the cottage and then the next street over there is lots of space, so we could work around it.
Supposed to be going out tonight for leaving drinks, If i do make it i won't be drinking i know that much!Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500
Debt payments 2012 £433.270
