morning all
woke up full of cold today:o
DS less upset today but still very loud:eek:
It is raining so not sure if we will get out...might just go for quick walk to get him out for a bit. He is stressed about school starting soon and about the cat. He is licking his hands all the time as he says they feel better wet and wont touch any clothes etc as it makes his hands feel funny.....has always been like this but has got worse...with anxiety I think.
fatcat settled today and is eating her new food;)
Moorhen have you tried Poultryshield? We also put Diatom powder in their dustbaths to try to stop redmite. Apparently crushing 2 cloves of garlic into their water helps too.0 -
Morning all,
Ite very wet here, the roads are flooding a bit, so no washing out today.
Islandmaid everything here is covered in dust too, I'm leaving it till all the messy work is done, and will then give it a good clean.
Bathroom going well, we now have a bath in and we should be able to use it tonight, waiting for the silicon to go off, we also have a working toilet :Twhich took all afternoon yesterday as it kept leaking, we have to take it out to put the lino down, but that wont take long.
DD is off to her best mates tonight her mum is treating them to a chinese and 2 films for doing well in their exams, I shall get them some Ben + Jerrys, I think tesco have it 1/2 price atm.
I bought DD a Pandona bracelett and wise Owl charm for passing her exams, (I bought it weeks ago, and had it hidden) she loves it, and has already got a bead wish list online, which will come in handy at xmas etc,
and its something that we can add to over the years.
Dinner tonight will be a very un OS takeaway, Indian or Chinese, whch we will have delivered as a treat for all our hard work.
OK better get on, have good days all xx0 -
Morning All,
So glad it's Friday and have a three day weekend to look forward too.
Put one load of washing in the conservatory today next to electric heater but it won't dry fast.
Going to make a hm pizza with salad for tea tonight. Have the kids coming round at 4 to see us before 2 out of 3 go on hols for a few days. Got my sister and her family coming tomorrow so excited to see them it has been about 6 months.
Hugs to all who needs them, better get back to work....0 -
Good morning all
Not much OS to report here today - the weather is foul so my plans to take the DDs to the park (via the odd Charity Shop and Home Bargains) have fallen a bit flat. The WM is on but I can't do as much as I would like as we don't have a tumble drier and I have limited space on the airers. Luckily I have been home all week so most of the stuff has been dealt with already.
I have a couple of bowls of blueberries from the garden which I might turn into some muffins in a bit - it will keep the DDs out of mischief (they love to help with baking).
Have good days all

Don't underestimate the value of "Just keeping going" - would send you a hug but not safe to be near as feel like Typhoid Mary.
Have not been doing much since I got a virus thingy on Sunday and been scared to eat or move more than a feet away from a bathroom.
DH helped me change the superking bed yesterday afternoon and I managed to clean and disinfect the en suite and mop the floor etc.
DH was really sweet and decided to make a stew in the slow cooker yesterday- only trouble is he used nearly every vegetable in the house whether a stew veg or not, added loads of water and then a packet of spicey mix meant for a marinade. So ingredients for four meals at least all ended up in a grey brown sloppy mess - he ate some of it but there is a huge bowl of it still in the fridge. I think it may be planning a great escape and try not to look at it if I come downstairs and open the fridge door.
Nearest I can get to old style just now is wanting to sort out the two pairs of heavy full length curtains in the living room. They are pencil pleated and so heavy that when we try to open and close them they fall of the hooks!! If they were eyelet curtains then they would function better. Does anyone know if a seamstress or someone could turn pencil pleat curtains into eyelets or if I have to start thinking of buying new winter curtains?
Pleased I managed to order three new double duvet sets from halfcost, they arrived yesterday and seem quite good for about £6 each. As I just want them for spares for DDs when their good bedding is in the wash they should be fine.

Morning ladies, hope all is well.Wet here so no washing again.Woke up at 10am  and realised I had a hair appointment at 9:eek::eek::o:o.Cannot believe no one heard her knock at the door, so have just phoned her and apologised, she laughed and said not to worry , she thought I may have been out walking the dog as even woofer didnt bark when she knocked, this was because he was snoring on the end of my bed, bad dog knows he isnt allowed upstairs. She is coming back this afternoon . Have to go and prep a slow cooker curry after my first cuppa. Not much else going on today I think......must go and look at the calender.
Short but sweet today, huge hugs for all:):)Paul Walker , in my dreams;)0 -

Morning All
Still pouring down here but the runner beans, peas and courgettes seem to love it because they are loaded.
Have just finished the housework and am going to go and have a batch bake this afternoon - things like twinks, fairy cakes, cheese straws and possibly a swiss roll etc
DD got the job yesterday but it is only one full day a week, but she has decided to take it and see if she can do different hours at her part time job so that she can do both and get a decent pay packet for a change.
Well I am off to put the dog in the garden as he is crying at me - have good days all xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
