Where is everyone.....can't find another ?

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Thursday 25th August. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning you lazy lot :p

Morning BB and all who cross and follow...

How do you start this thread each day? Have been lurking to see when someone would. :)

Dull here today but sssh not actually raining yet. Still in bed with the lappie and a cuppa. Off out to town for coffee later with a friend. May buy a new bed today as DH has seen one in a sale...time to start decorating the bedroom methinks!

Don't know what's for tea as I have been running down the freezer....may have to buy something! Bought some fish in parsley sauce on Morrison's the other week-pollack or something and DH refuses to eat the other portions. It was horrible! Oh yes could do a mixed bean chilli from the storecupboard-started one last week but due to a senior moment it became curry! :rotfl:

    Have a nice day all.

    Morning everyone,

Just been to sort out next doors cat and chickens.
The cat is gorgeous and so friendly but the chickens have terrible red mite poor things. My friend says that she has been struggling with treating it all summer, I know from when we had chickens how hard it is to treat, I am going to go over later and use our mite powder on their run, it won't get rid of them but it does decrease their numbers!

Today is tidying, food shopping and ferrying children around, I do have an exciting life:D

    Tea tonight is HM pizza.

    Have a lovely day everyone.:)

morning Bramble and gintot and all , very quiet here!

bit damp here this morning so hanging washing indoors. Slept ok, am taking the medicine which seems to be helping a bit plus Olbas oil on my pillow.

Am working later - very short staffed atm and as I caught my germs there its not like I'm spreading it around.

House is passable - kitchen floor mopped - muddy paws to blame! got loads of washing to do as changed the beds the other day and not had chance to do it yet.
    nothing else to report.

    Have a lovely day all x x

I too have been waiting for the thread to be started, I tried doing it once got it all wrong so never tried again. Up early with DGD2, fed her and DH eggs on toast then yogurt, she's now eating nuts & raisins. I made a steak plate pie y/day with pots & broccoli, DGD had 3 dinners. She can eat more than me and doesn't have an ounce of fat on her.
Was going to take her to the park but rain's put a stop to that, so may go to Wells cathederal, need to go to Argos, DH wants a pair of headphones, I'll use Nectar points to pay for them.
BM nearly finished and WM gurgling away. I found a bag of green beans on my doorstep y/day, no idea who left them . HM burgers new pots & salad tonight. We don't do puds much but read the thread "cheap Puddings" so may try some recipes tonight. Got some sewing to do and a bit of ironing, pretty much up to date with all chores, off to pack DH's lunch. and bath DGD.
Well done and commiserations to all hard working students on exam results.
    Have a good day all.

    Morning all

Hope all is well haven't been able to get on or read the thread at all as things have been a bit manic. Heavy rain here at the mo. Hope all is well as I haven't had a chance to read the thread. Anyhow have worked 18 hours agency work this week so that's more money in the bank. Also got paid on Thursday so did a huge shop as we were out of everything including toiletries. Have bought a months supply of cat food as my cats will only eat whiskas. Am hoping tocut costs that way and do my top up shop in Lidl or Aldis.

Took DS to the cinema last night to see Cowboys and Aliens. Great fun and Daniel Craig is always nice to look at:D.

Plan to day to go to the gym. Have got the the doctor later to get bloods done for the agency. Then it's tidying and menu planning. Was supposed to be going out tonight but my babysitter has had to go up to London and can't find a replacement. Oh the joy of being a single Mum sometimes. Anyhow, should be positive and think of the money I'm saving.

Big hugs to anyone who needs one and congratulations and comiserations to all getting exam results.

    Have a good day all

    Morning all,

Day off today, so 4 day weekend, intend to get some batch cooking done today.

Its tipping down with rain at the mo, so no doubt the kids will be loitering (and eating)' so best start with flapjacks and twinks:p

House needs a good clean too, been having some building work done, everything covered in a fine layer of dust:mad:

I guess the only thing to do is get on with it - will checkin later.

    Have a good day x

    Hi everyone.

Gintomelinda - whenever I've started the thread (and TBH, I can't remember the last time!), I've gone to the previous day's thread and copied and pasted the sticky from the start of that one.

Noah's Mum - hope things are a bit less challenging for you today.

Fun and games here through the night because we had yet another massive thunderstorm - it woke DH first, so I made him go back downstairs and unplug everything to do with communications. Last time, just a few weeks ago, we lost it all for around a week. This time it messed up my new Livebox but new instructions came up on screen for how to put it right, so all is well .... until the next storm. They seem to be coming on a weekly basis here these days!

Dinner today will be paprika pork, probably with boiled spuds, so that will be easy enough. We still have loads of peaches from our tree, so they've become our pudding fixture for the time being.

I have two loads for the WM but I think I'll be drying it indoor because the sky is full of rain.

Well, I'd better go and do something useful.

    Have good days, everyone.

    Morning all

Well is dank and grey here today which is typical as I need to get all my washing clean and dry so I don't have anything extra here on top of all the holiday washing next week so the dreaded TD is on. WM is on load #1 of the day. Hopefully I can get everything done in 5 washes including all the bedding I am about to strip off the beds.

My Mum, Sister and her Fianc! are coming over at about lunchtime which will be nice. My Mum never visits lol she's only coming as it was my birthday Tuesday so today is my birthday visit! I have some cupcakes I made Wednesday to declutter so they can have those. Trying to make sure everything that will go off is gone today, I think the only thing we will have left is some satsumas but they can just come with us. I have a mountain of ironing to do today, should get off my toosh and start now but I think I need another cuppa!

Dinner tonight for me and DH is thai green curry using the LO chicken from our roast on Wednesday, kids will have something with chips depending on what I find in the freezer for them, unless my Mum brings them a MD's for lunch. Tonight we will be mostly vacuuming the car (if its not raining!) and packing it! I am so excited, I love holidays especially down to Dawlish Warren.

Right I must get off my toosh, make a cuppa, check my FL list and get some stuff done!

Hope everyone is ok, hugs and spoons to all in need x
