    Cheap is not always good.

    Of course :T

This is a cheap Chinese Ipod rip off. Considering you could get an ipod Shuffle for roughly the same price why would anyone buy one

Well - just an update. Contacted Box Network who to be fair refunded me the postage element almost immediately.

Groupon was a different matter. Despite chasing with numerous emails and phone calls I eventually threatened them with the small claims court.

Lo and behold next day received email apologising for their poor service and promising refund in 5 days plus £10 Groupon credit. redit received in my Groupon account - just waiting for the £29 now.

    Result.

For roughly the same price as an iPod you can buy a Sansa, Sony or Creative music player with better sound quality and a drag and drop interface. :)
  • Had the Sansa clip for about a week, worked well till the battery died. Cost £35.00, Amazon refunded £40.00 so not all bad.

I used to have one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Archos-Key-Digital-player-flash/dp/B0034YA70W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1317973546&sr=8-1
Built-in FM transmitter for the car, and fairly decent. Bizarrely had no way of locking the device, but two ways to turn it off. My new Sony is better though

If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

Creative make particularly poor players these days - best avoided.

Sony, Sansa and iPods all have roughly the same sound quality.
I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

  • Bought and paid for two Groupons for the MP3 Nano Lite. Waited a month for them to arrive and when they did they were such rubbish quality that I emailed the company, on two separate emails to ask for a full refund.

Heard nothing back so complained to Groupon, who didn't get back to me, complained on their Facebook page and was given an email address to contact. Waited and then chased again for a reply from Groupon ....

Finally hear back from Groupon to be told to keep contacting the other company as there is nothing Groupon can do about it.

Beginning to wish I had never heard of Groupon.

I am now stuck with two rubbish MP3 players, with not much hope of getting a refund and what is worse ...is that despite all these complaints Groupon keep offering the same MP3 Nano Lite Deal!!! ...How are they allowed to get away with this???

I too, bought 2 nanolites but have only used one, which worked reasonably well until it needed to be charged. It will only charge enough to give a maximum of 15 minutes playback time. I've tried to phone the contact number at the back of the instruction booklet, to no avail and have left an e-mail on the BOXNET website, to which I have had no response as yet. I am slowly realising, having read the other comments, that this is probably yet another ''pop up' company that makes a 'quick kill' from selling sub-standard goods and then disappears. I will not be using Groupon again as they clearly do not vet the companies that advertise on their site, judging by the number of complaints and the 'fly-by-night' nature of this particular company's website and product literature.

To everybody who is requesting refund- persevere with Groupon - just got my £29 back!

Noticed that this is now top thread if you google "nanolite 4gb" so hopefully others won't get suckered into buying one.
  • Hi, I've just received my nanolite mp3 that i bought via Groupon and it's the biggest piece of crap I've ever seen. My 4 year old Creative Zen 1GB is better than this, and that's saying something. How can they get away with selling it!
I'll be looking for a refund but I'd be interested to know how other people have approached this as i know some people got refunds. I'd like to know how they addressed the situation with Groupon.
    Cheers
