Today will be a bit of a spendy day as I have to get a mains adaptor for the little lady's DVD player as I stole hers to put on the router, a lightbulb for her disco ball and some extra long screws so that the sparkly knobs we bought for her cupboards can be installed.

Oh how I wish you were buying the little lady a lightbulb as you had stolen hers for your disco ball :rotfl:.

And :rotfl:to son, oh dear ;).
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

My son says I look like Chewbacca & MrsP looks like an Ewok.

Oh dear with the fence. I went to see my BiL in his new (to him) house last night and he was missing a fence panel. Luckily it was from the fence on the left hand side of the garden as you face the front of the house from the road, so is his nieghbours problem rather than his.

I was really impressed that you stayed loyal to the employer who pulled you out of the mire when there was a possibility of a higher salary elsewhere. That was truly heartening.
    Better is good enough.
  • 7.6km run this morning and been through the mighty spreadsheet again to check there are no surprises. There aren't. Fixed fence has remained so and the rearrangement of downstairs has made us realise this house might be big enough for us for a few more years. Have already been out to the supermarket to get some more provisions - managed to come in at 45quid which is pretty good as we are seriously squeezed til payday. It's a very flat Wednesdayish Wednesday here - hopefully something will come along to spark things into action.
  • Yays and Nays.

    Yay cos
    1) Low spend week and zero on alcohol
    2) Mrs B somehow managed to get a 0% card to transfer some debt that was at 23%
    3) Mrs B negoitiated a new car for pretty much the same payment she was doing for the old one but it's petrol which will actually work out more cost-effective for the short runs we tend to do. And spares us the expense of MOTs and all that malarky
    4) Mrs B found a whole pile of clothes that are ebayable

    And nays
    1) Exercise mojo has not reared its head.
    2) Chucked out the collection of potential ebay packaging as it was doing my shed in.
    3) Been sick as a pig with an unwelcome return of an old condition.

So overall it's yay for Mrs B and nay for pretty much everything else. I need wine.

  • Damn you MrB, I'm fairly new around here and so have just stumbled on your diary.
I woke up fully intending to:
-make a start on the 'to do' list I set myself yesterday (got distracted posting and reading diaries)
-sweep the house for anything ebayable
    -fiddle with my spread-sheets
But now it is very likely that said activities will be put on hold whilst I catch up (how many pages?).

Apologies, perhaps 'hello' might have been a better way to introduce myself, so HI and hope you don't mind me joining you for the ride!

Well done on the running. I too need to find a balance. I just seem to rush from one project to the other, and always feel like I am catching up.

I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
  • Woohoo! Back to a fully functioning body and with no recourse to Movicol (shudder) this time around. Payslip has come through and cos of a change in my tax I am £50 up. That'll go towards the Penalty Charge Notice I am still awaiting them to drop on me after we fessed up that it was me driving Mrs B's motor at 40 in a 30 zone. Anyways, both physically and mentally things are flowing a bit better this week - intend on doing a run in the morning, have had the princely amount of 1 bottle of wine in the last week and to be totally honest, I could have done without it. We got wine, rum, sherry all sitting here around me and I haven't felt the urge. Am really putting my head in the lion's jaws by being so upbeat. Oh well, what is fate if it is not to be tempted.

    So my priorities are:
    - Ensure all March payments go through
    - Chuck any spare at the most evil of our collection of CCs
    - Get back into running, abs, squats and all them virtuous things
    - Keep smiling
    - Give Candy Crush a rest - am up to level 160 and to be fair, there's probably not much more I will learn about myself by going any further with it.
