Mr B
Every day is a new trial for us all and there will alawys be days when it is harder than others. You have made a good start on both the weight loss and the money saving so just give yourself a large pat on the back. Yes there will be days when you do not make it work but “It's not whether you get knocked down, it's whether you get up.”
Although I don't wish to heap on more pressure you have inspired many of us. For example me!! I went food shopping today and had checked the website today so knew the prices of EVERYTHING I needed. If it wasn't the price I knew I didn't buy it. I managed to buy the shopping at less than £90, a feat I have not managed for a long, long time. And I even bought some chocolate as a treat and a box of Celebrations to put away for C (yes that C word) as they were on offer.
I hope to see a post from you tomorrow.2015 £2 Saver #82

Cmon Mr B.
We all have good days and bad days but there's only one way to go and that is up.
Remember you can't do anything about yesterday or tomorrow you can do something about today.

Hi Mr B,
I have registered just so I can post this message (have been a nosey guest for some time).
Just wanted to say that you are doing really well and to keep it up.
It seems that work may be getting you down, but that doesn't define who you are.
It's tiring doing what you're doing, both mentally and physically, give yourself a break!!!
I've learnt loads from this forum, and its fun to read, so thank youu for that. I'm looking forward to seeing how you get o., not tomorrow or the next day, but 4, 8, 12 months down the Line :+)0 -
Mr B
Am not sure whether I said this on your thread or not, but I think it would be fair to say that many people on here have been in debt and overweight. MOST of them found that to really do a good job of either of them, they had to focus on just ONE of them.
So maybe now is you and your families time to focus on the debt. Sure try and eat a healthier diet, do more exercise etc, but if the debt is bothering you more then that has to be your focus.
If on the other hand your weight is life threatening then maybe you need to focus on weight reduction, and try to make the debt reduction as self running as possible.
Good luck

I agree with Chevalier...focus on one goal or the other.
Willpower is like a muscle. The more you use it, the stronger it gets, and therefore by getting great at using it in one area of your life, it often helps in other areas too....such as losing weight, being tidier round the house etc. But to start with, it's better to just focus on one thing I think....small steps and all that.
You're obviously an 'all-or-nothing' type of guy but we all have small failures, as others have said, it's just part of the journey. I've only recently come back to the boards after an 18-month hiatus, and people have been lovely, so if you do decide to take a break then do come back. x0
