Could you ring your usual vets tomorrow, explain the situation, and that you may need to come in, Zara is insured, you are on a low income (but still have your pet insured - reiterate this!), and see if they could come to some sort of agreement? Either a direct claim to argos, and you pay the excess over the next few weeks, or if it less than the excess that they will allow you to pay over the next few weeks?
Either way its best to approach them before there is an emergency, and they will prob be more willing to help if you ring them before hand and are upfront.
Could you not put friends/family on emergency standby, as a one of, to get Zara to the vets this weekend if it becomes neccesary? Either that or beg a few quid for a 'just in case' taxi fare?I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Ohhh - If you were nearby I would offer my taxi services lol - I hope Zara and you are OK, and all this is a storm in a teacup, and she heals with no bother!
Are you eligable for PDSA? I thought CH was in the big smoke? Meaning you'd be near a PDSA hosp possibly?I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

I have no family here and nobody to borrow money (any money) from, especially knowing I am not in position to give it back any time soon.
No taxi /cab will take Zara but I can get to Celia Hammond in Canning Town by bus with her.
My vet will not be happy to help out as Zara's previous bill was not paid by Argos since April I think. In any case, I live on 65 per week, my insurance excess is 65 too so... how?
Will see what CH says tomorrow when I call them.. sigh... I am pretty sure they will be more symphatetic than Goddards ...0 -
Just checked, I do nto have Blue Cross or PDSA anywhere near me - I am in East End of London.....
Blue Crosss does some mobile thingy in E17 (45 min bus ride away - IF the driver lets me on with Zara) on Fridays (just saw on their website) but only vaccinations/microchips/general advice.
Celia Hammond is my best bet.0 -
Aww hunny - how about ringing CH in advance, let them know your situation, and see if they can come to some sort of payment agreement?
All of this is of course only if Zara needs the vet, but I think places will be more willing to help if you explain the problem...that may never come to be IYSWIM?I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Oh - and I still do nto have any letters about HB or CTB - and those are required by PDSA and Blue Cross anyway.... Only got my JSA letter - been off work since 5th August only.. sigh...
Do not know - will see what it looks like tomorrow and decide then - probably wont sleep worrying about that now - life with pets, huh?
Thanks everyone0 -
Not sure if you missed my post, last one on page one.
But it happened with one of mine and it practically healed itself within days with no side effects or trips to the doctors. He even managed to do it to me, right on the inside of my elbow, and again that healed without a trip to the doctors or rubbing anything on it.0 -
Oh, perhaps I should apply for a job there...

Awww hun - please don't get all worried and sleepless!
Chances are that Zara will be fine, will heal up, and there will be nothing to worry about!
