What doesn't it do?
Again - there were no guarantees of updates or new features.
Although as you have pointed out there is no guarantee for updates it is something you expect.
Microsoft are still bringing out updates for an operating system that is 10 years old so why shouldn't the OP be annoyed at the fact they have bought something that isn't going to be updated after a while?0 -
Because Microsoft DO guarantee some level of support and updates for xx years...
Many people expect their £250 TV to last 10 years, but that doesn't mean it will (or that its meant to!)Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.0 -

When you pay more than £400 for a piece of modern technology of course you expect it to have a shelf life of more than 6 weeks! I purchased the Touchpad above the Ipad because HP claimed to be able to 'Work like nothing else'. Well they have certainly managed that I have a 10 yr old PC that will still probably last longer!0 -
Hp claimed to have an expanding apps catalogue, that isnt going to happen now and unless I you want to play Angry Birds or download 20 yr old movies there is nothing on there worth having and never will be.0

i dont think its definite there wont be any future apps for the touchpad,0 -
My touchpad has just turned up today. With this firesale the actual numbers of people who own touchpads now is probably high enough to justify the continue production of ap's and updates. Personally i've looked at the Ap's for the HP and if I was that bothered about ap's and updates to the software I would have shelled out for an IPAD as that is significantly better supported (apart from the fact there is not flash)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. helpful comment thanks! Who should be held accountable then? I researched touchpad right up until the day I bought it and the information alluded to services that are no longer available therefore it is no longer fit for the purpose it was bought for!
What services arent available now that were before?
hp have said they will continue to support the product with software updates and that more apps will be added to the app catalogue. (Infact quite a few have been added today)
The product has a long term furture with its WebOS operating system, it will also sooner or later (sooner IMO) have an android port so you could put android on the touchpad.
Sadly you have no right to a refund/ partial refund. Products get withdrawn all the time0
