Thank you all for such kind wishes.

Patient transport can be arranged but it would go all round the houses and that's the part I absolutely couldn't cope with. I can either use a taxi in and out or even get a taxi to the station and then get another one at the other end. It's not the end of the world moneywise, it's making sure I have enough control to stop and start the journey as I see fit.

SB'd always at college on a Wednesday and I know my dad wants him to drive but he's graded on attendance, loves college and one day I may really really need him so don't want to cry wolf. It's an easy enough problem to fix.

Macmillan are recommending that my slow release morphine is increased so I need less break thru. I'm very ok with this as the breakthru stuff makes me dozy and sicky.

Anti nausea pump is a success so praying they let me keep that for the duration of chemo.

I'be to apply for DLA as I'm having really issues cooking etc because of the nausea. Also difficult getting dressed and showered as the exertion brings on a bad attack. Nurse said to have a go over the weekend and she'll look at it next week. If anyone has any experience of wording or good points to make I'd be very grateful for help and input.

So a pretty successful day. Your kind thoughts are always felt as well.

I'm especially delighted that you're sounding so much bouncier Taxi...you're my star and I'm overjoyed that you've turned a corner. Great incentive for me to keep going.

Well handyman in hopefully coming tomorrow about 10. I've got pics in frames and cleaned so that'll really be a job that's being annoying me for over 2 years, done and dusted. He keeps sending me texts to check I'm ok and to make sure I'm fine. It's very kind and thoughtful.

hopefully you can get that pain under control soon and sort out what way you are going to get to hospital.
As far as DLA concerned not sure what to put on form as I have one here to do so same problems with wording too.
  • Someone on here is really good at the wording stuff.

Sod it. I cannot remember who it was... Beanie - I shall message you on FB.

Kissjenn, constantly thinking of you and Taxi. Praying praying praying! and so glad to see you posting.

    Love buffyxx

Kissjen, the WRVS supply patient transport for people like yourself. Its just volunteers with their own cars. With your chemo it would be unwise to be in a minibus full of sick people, and the nausea issues too a long journey would be awful too. Would the unit not arrange something like that for you given your situation.

As far as DLA is concerned you need to be emphasising care and mobility issues... Explain how SB helps you and the Macmilian nurses also the fact you cannot cook because of the sickness. When you complete the form please make sure the Mac nurses check it over they will have years of experience of dealing with these forms they are pretty horrendous.
Make sure you get the pack ASAP.. You can pick one up from your local JCP or ring them and get them to post it out. There will be two dates on it.. The day you ring for the pack and date in six weeks time. Get the form in before the six week date and if accepted, they will backdate the claim to the date you asked for the pack.
Please do apply for DLA it is your right... Any more info just shout..Are you on ESA as well or SSP...? x

ps: TAXI same as above and get someone to check it out for you... You also need to explain re anxiety issues you have been having.. nothing about your health condition is too detailed for this form.. if in doubt put it on.. hope this helps...xx

Just delurking to advise maybe contacting your local council to see if it has a Welfare Rights Department as they helped me claim DLA and also to get the form sent out as soon as possible as the new PIP will be coming into affect from April and will be a lot harder to be approved for.

Definitely ring up now for the forms and then call your council to check if they have the service. They'll even visit you in your own home.

    Good luck

Basically with DLA just tell them it as it is.It seems very repetitive(as it is)so just keep going over the points as needed.
Importantly remember that you dont need to actually have to be getting the help but to need it.Really you are painting them a picture of how your life is as they have no other information about you other than that that you give them.It is looking at negative and nothing positive really so dont be dispirited.
Any queries just give me a shout.
