Went to see nurse at GPs. She has no idea how to care for a Hickman line. So she removed the dressings and I've a rash under them all as I'm allergic.

So I'm cleaned up, low allergy dressings on. They can't advise how I care for the line. Suggest I don't bath or shower again tomorrow and hopefully they can find a district nurse to sort me out.

They'll ring me tomorrow and let me know what to do next.

So what part of the hospital phoning they yesterday and asking if they could deal with a Hickman Line confused them? Why didn't they say no and let the District Nurses who do deal with them, visit me?

SB should not need to pay his fees.
But does need to apply through SAAS to get them paid.

what a nightmare...most nurses don't know how to deal with lines.No idea why they sent you to your Drs to do it...I thought it was district nurses that do them too but these hospitals don't use joined up thinking..you'd think they'd have booked that yesterday

I'll ring the district nurses in the morning and see what they advise.

Been feeling really sick again today. I've had some soup and a roll but that's it. I'm finding cooking very hard with the smells and heat. Can't believe the pain meds have got me this way already. Goodness knows what it'll be like when they add chemo on top!

Beanie...I'll chase SB up next week to ensure he's talked to the career support guy who's meant to help them with all this. Certainly no forms came by me so somehow it's been overlooked, Hopefully we can fix now.

sorry to hear you;re feeling sick ..that is one thing I def can't cope with...will out of hours dr be able to help you

I've taken cyclozine and domperidone and it's starting to calm a bit.

It's the pain meds...they make me very nauseous. I think the buckets are back for a while

One of my team came down here today to help me write my handover pack. Soooooo grateful to her for doing that.

Also, phoned the hosp, and....I'm getting chemo sometime next week :j:j:j

Now everyone pay attention to the wee jumping jacks and remind me of them when I start moaning about wanting to die after chemo next week...:D
