Awwww Jenn sorry you're feeling sick already
but I'm .... (happy / pleased etc don't seem the right kind of words to use but) ...... glad (? just as bad
) that you've got your chemo sorted out.
Hope you get the district nurses to come - not sure if you've had them before but I had one visit me last year (had foot surgery & needed dressings changes / stitches taken out etc) and she was absolutely wonderful :T

Well no phone call from Drs or Nurses today about the line. No idea how I have a shower with this in. Why do they make what should be simple things so complicated?:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0

Great news on the chemo next week(as far as chemo can be good news..yuck)
Sorry to hear that you've not heard from district nurses yet.Was reading up about Hickman lines last night and you need a special cover/dressing to shower/bathe.
My district nurse who used to come after my op used to come in the evening so there maybe time yet.If your DRs is open late it maybe worth a call to ask if they can check up for you
got some news myself today..sort of0 -

Hi.
They gave me a bag of stuff for the practice nurse who said she could look after the line. Hereafter known as eejit. In the bag are IV3000 dressings.
So what do I cover up? Do I curl up the line and put it all under the IV3000?
Do I need one on the dressing at my throat as well?
They told me not to have a bath.
WTFI - can I be nosy and ask if you're going through as well at the moment?

I just cover the entry site. I admit I stuck to baths (and avoided near there until I had spoke to the district nurse)
