I'm trying to persuade my local Co-op that they should match the Tesco R and R policy, but they won't. Is there any leverage I can apply? The Co-op are more than happy to refund the difference between SEL and the till price, but I want a Tesco type deal ..... ;-)

    Any suggestions?

TO be honest and with the apparent phasing out of the policy within Tesco it will be difficult to get any retailer to match the offer. The Co-Op has far less leverage than the big 4 and therefore profit margins wont be the same...to ask them to give their stock away would probably be futile.

You mean, in that it would be a breach of the Sale of Goods act and the Consumer Protection Act if it didn't :D

What I meant was what SPA said. but I think 'You'll be lucky' summarised it concisely. I was saving words.

Perhaps suggest that trading standards might initiate prosecution if they don't give me the goods for free ;) ?

I think more in line with "Tesco do it, so why don't you?"

The first statement is an outright lie....it doesnt matter if the goods are free or not, prosecution will only result from persistent and deliberate overcharging and pretty soon apparently the second statement will not be true either....

Just a quick question for spa2k, do you have an accent for the locality of your football team? and an orange fake tan? ;)

Justice for the 96 Im a football fan myself but let it lie, the plod screwed up but only after way over capacity fans turned up without tickets causing the crush outside. The acctions of the police resulted in the accident taking place inside the stadium and not outside.

John, there is a temptation to launch into a tirade here but this is neither the time nor the place. I would suggest that rather than believe in the lies that a certain newspaper printed at the time and to this day still refuses to retract that you look at http://www.contrast.org/hillsborough/history/index.htm which tells the truth in full. I suggest strongly that http://www.contrast.org/hillsborough/history/media.shtm is essential reading.

As for the let it lie comment, tell that to the parents, brothers, sisters etc of the 96. If a member of your family died in a way that is unjust i am sure that you would be clamouring for justice. I am lucky, i had no relative at hillsborough, others were not so lucky. Would you tell survivors of the Bradford fire disaster or Heysel to "Let it lie"?

This is my only and final post here on the subject, if you have a problem with either my avatar or sig then i suggest you take it up with the site moderators.
