Giving the name of your store AND your own name AND a mini description of yourself on this forum is surely a very dumb thing to do.

I very much doubt it.. Would have waited until he had some sort of threat before getting advice. Besides I never suggested the thread was illegal, visiting multiple Tesco stores with the intention of being overcharged repeatedly for the same item would be classed as obtaining property by deception and therefore illegal.0 -
Just out of passing curiosity, what legal qualifications do you have?zultan wrote:I very much doubt it.. Would have waited until he had some sort of threat before getting advice. If the procedure i've related is correct then if the overcharge was one third of the total price you'd end up with the item free.amosworks wrote:Well that's a very interesting point. I think it's going to take each of us a few test cases with CS, but I like creating a scene :A
So if according to my incorrect interpretation of their policy in law, I worked out the overcharge has to be 100% the price of the item, what is the new minumum percentage required?
ie SEL £6 ... Charged £9 .... Overcharge £3.
£3 back to correct the price. £6 back price promise. £9 originally paid £9 back in total and you keep the item.0 -
Just picked up 4 of the 24pk cokes at Eastleigh store - price on pack £7.25, sel £6.95.
csa had to speak to manager as wanted me to swop them for the £6.95 priced packs.
Manager gave full r&r as gogw!!
So thats 96 cans of coke with a bbf feb 08 for free.
Sel not removed and more packs available.
Also bagged 4 black forest gateau's from the freezer at 25p each.0 -

Yes I just wanted to know because now I can spot an over-charge, the percentage of the over-charge can now also give me an indication as to how worth my while it will be, whether it will be highly reduced, about free, or even pay me to get
I like the new policy much better
But on your previous example, going in with £9 and coming out with £15 would mean the over-charge has to be 60% the original price?0 -
Interestingly though I think Spa worked it out the way I suggested but Constantine thought it would just be a refund of twice the difference.Hermann wrote:Sadly I'm inclined to agree with you.
However that doesn't mean its not what should be happening.
These are probably two of the most reliable and accurate staff posting on the forum and I'm not suggesting either of them are being purposely deceitful but it illustrates the confusion that already exists.0 -
Im afraid as always it depends on the staff at the CS desk.amosworks wrote:Yes I just wanted to know because now I can spot an over-charge, the percentage of the over-charge can now also give me an indication as to how worth my while it will be, whether it will be highly reduced, about free, or even pay me to get

Sometimes you won't get any refund.
Sometimes you might get twice the value of the overcharge.
If you're lucky sometimes you might the price corrected plus twice the difference.
And of course sometimes you'll get banned from the store.
So putting a finite percentage on it is a little difficult as there is no consistancy in the customer service at Tescos.0 -
