!!!!!! if it does finish before the 24th I've taken the day off work to get myself a bargain!

Hope they go to double the difference instead as the hair straighteners that I got the wife would have made me money - they were £25 OOD SEL but scanned at £50 - that means I'd have got the straigheteners for free and £25 cash if they actually stick to this type of policy....

    let's see what happens....

It would be nice if that were to happen regularly, I think what it would stop, would be all RandRs on meat and foods that are only out by pennies, and would possibly stop the most widely item RandRed, and therefore stop the majority of RandRers as well.

It may also stop returns at full price (after DD), as I can see Mr T insisting that a new receipt should be given for the new price after the DD is given.

Although i hear a few cry "Statutory Rights not affected".....I think they'll get round it by adding something to the "policy wording"

I think the only way to "get your own back" maybe to report every incident to TS, but I cant see more than maybe 5% of RandRers doing that.........too much hassle.

Cant see Mr T being bitten again......although if past history repeats itself....you never know.

    Just my thoughts......no facts here.
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

    Let me get this straight:

The little yellow SELs with the cheaper price also have the date the offer ends in a smaller font.

If this is still displayed after the date the offer ends, and the item rings up at the more expensive price, is the covered by the r & r policy? even if the date the offer ends is displayed on the shelf? albeit in tiny writing.

I looked for sat nav and mobile phone, and the camera misprices today to no avail. However my tesco 12hr mouthwash SEL 59p rung up at 93p so got that free :)

Agree to some extent but let's say TESCO do change the policy...this discussion thread alone has 163,000 views - let's say there are only 16,000 people regularly viewing the site (looking at the same page 10 times each) and that just 10% of those people complain to trading standards about the same item in stores across the country in the same week then Tesco would have a big problem...imagine that weekly and so on. If they do change the policy I'm going to send an e-mail to Martin about heading up a campaign . If he sends it on his weekly tips and has a downloadable form/letter to send to trading standards if a customer is overcharged then imagine how many complaints they'd get. the 20Million EURO fine in Ireland could dwarf into insignificance....

Let's face it most people seem to hate most big companies if they are making billions of pounds profit...and newspapers fall over themselves for stories like "TESCO OVERCHARGE CUSTOMERS" - this will be a great headline and help them sell papers...currently nobody is latching onto it as our silence is being bought by this generous policy of R+R - but if they stop it I'll make it a point of principle to report TESCO for as many misprices as possible...

In truth TESCO are trying to drive prices down most of the time - hats off to them for that at the moment but we all know long term once they've driven all other supermarkets out of the market they'll hike the prices and we'll all left paying too much.

I used to shop in Sainsburys so actually the R+R policy has gained them a customer for groceries oddly - my R+R comes to about the same weekly so guess they aren't making much from me but at least they're offsetting their losses!!!
    Tesco is my second home

It certainly is covered by the policy, although they may try to wriggle out of it.

Stand your ground.....If two prices are displayed, then the cheapest of the two, must be the highest price charged. It is against the law to display incorrect prices. Its not your job to carry your reading glasses for such tiny print.

You may have a bigger argument of an OOD XBox sel than a OOD packet of crisps sel though.

Understand what you are saying, but if my 5% was nearer 1%(as i was going to say) and your estimate of 16,000 is a lot less(which i cant believe are actually actively against Tescos)(just realised that this thread has only been viewed 13,478 times anyway)(so divide that by 10, then find 1%)...then the figures are fantastically less..........I honestly dont think people will bother.

TBH over the months I have been posting on here, Ive only really seen half a dozen or so people that were genuinely concerned about Tesco's overcharging......the rest(like me) were just in it for something to do, and make life a little easier.

    Evening All

Have just been to do my shopping and checked whether the policy signs had been taken down in my store. They are still there, and I got my first R&R!!!!
