Anyone thinking of purchasing from France, be careful. If I'm translating correctly, the HP French store says that the keyboard is AZERTY rather than QWERTY.

Interesting bit of business by CPW. Dumping 1000 half decent sim free phones at £50 on the market means 1000 less phones being sold tied to a network (as a minimum if they were pay as you go locked phones) or contracts (if sold pay monthly). So I reckon there's been a bit of a quick deal brokered behind the scenes by CPW whereby the networks put something in the pot to get these phones on contract rather than flooding the market. They are probably banking on at least a few people being dumb enough to read all the hype about these phones and want one regardless.

Meantime HP have put off their announcement (and sale?) until next Wednesday at which point maybe those that haven't shifted on contract this way will get sold off. The difference here against the touchpad is that very few people had had a chance to buy one of these full price so there may be some who just want one because they like WebOS (or because they want it to go with their touchpad etc). So it does make some sense to see if they can shift a few at higher prices first.

@jaymac I've checked FNAC (major French electricals, CD and DVD retailer) plus Amazon France but no sign of them listed there.
The HP French store definitely says AZERTY though ('Characteristiques Techniques tab > Clavier: Clavier physique AZERTY coulissant')
Have a good time in France et bon chance!

Merci Beaucoup! We were meant to go last week but I was ill. Still, we missed the heatwave!

CPW site saying no stock of palm pre3...who's got it then?
  • Your guess is as good as mine, I have been watching this issue all week and keep getting blanks!! Cleverboxes did have a few.........

Its even out of stock on contract now on CPW, but I very much doubt they have sold contracts for the phone at that price!!!!
