After the HP Touchpad... now the HP Pre 3 Smartphone. £49 down from £400! Sim Free!

Many of you will have seen the HP touchpad that had a mahooosive amount knocked off it, but is now gone just about everywhere.

In light of this, and now the news that the Palm Pre (Palm are owned by HP) is also about to be sold for about £50 in the same style, thought it would be good to have a thread to post any other HP firesale offers as they come up.

Given PC's are the highest volume items they sell, they may have some tasty offers coming up :)

Just by way of an update Expansys & play have them at full price. You can pre-order them on expansys and always return it if they insist on charging you full price!!
  • I doubt they will be too many offers - as they run windows/linux etc. which will keep being supported unlike webos on the pre/touchpad

HP are exiting from the 'Consumer Electronics' Market. It is unlikely that there will be any such offers on PCs or laptops.

Just to give you all a heads up.

HP will be selling their 'new' smartphone at a heavily discounted price - rumoured to be somewhere in the region of £45 - £55.

The Palm website (HP bought Palm) are saying an update will be give on Friday (26th Aug)... they also mention the Touchpads too and an ETA for more stock delivery should you wish to order... so be prepared.

This is a great opportunity for those who want a new phone, sim free, latest technology for next to nothing - keep your eyes and ears open...

Google HP Pre 3 UK discount (I can't post links as I'm new).

Likely sellers Carphone, Expansys and the usual retailers... In Germany the phone has been sold heavily discounted and can be picked up for £100 on ebay... amazing considering that the RRP was in the region of £400.

Grab yourselves another bargain! It will run the same OS as the Touchpad.

Remember Sim Free means it will work with any Sim card. Check you have a data allowance so as to not incurr additional charges through your mobile provider.

The phone has a 5MP Camera, WILL SHOOT HD video, 720P, large 3.58inch screen, WebOS etc...

    Dan.

Well it will be Sim Free so will work on any network AFAIK so treat your other half to a decent handset... well worth it. Just ensure you have a data allowance or check your current charges for data etc....

This is modern technology, yet to be released here so you can't go wrong.

Again people (including journalists) need to learn to read.
HP said they're discontinuing webOS DEVICES.
They are continuing to develop and support webOS.
They are CONSIDERING spinning off their PC hardware business. Nothing has been decided there.
