Cleverboxes was certainly showing oos earlier Thursday night tho' did say more stocks expected. So does this mean that they snapped a few more up before CPW got the rest or that the CPW deal isn't exclusive then? (Rhetorical question - the only thing this whole bizarre affair has taught me is to expect the completely unexpected! *grin*)0

Carphone sister companies have the phones loaded up.
Not a good deal. On Voda, 24 Months 100 minutes 500 texts is £10.50 a month and the handset is £259.
I don't think you will be getting this handset cheaper anywhere else.
Touchpads going too, for 'free' but on contracts where for example the phone is worth less than a tenner and the whole contract base costs works out at 774 over 24 months...
Interesting pricing... be interesting to see if the public go for it... I doubt it re the phone seeing as you can pick them up on the continent for around 100 or so euros...0

And as for people saying that it's bad because it won't receive updates - When was the last time that your < £100 SE, Samsung etc phone received an update? Never mind dumb phones, many cheap Android handsets never see an update in their life and people still happily use them.
Difference being those cheap android phones still have access to the market with thousands of apps despite being on an older version of Android these dont and wont no matter what happens0

Looks like it's over (for now at least). CPW site is listing prices for Pre 3 with contract (Vodafone, Orange & T-Mobile from £30 p/m 24 months). Also £479.95 sim free but oos. Payg shown in search result but no payg deals offered. The search also shows Touchpads being offered 'sim free' and 'on various networks' but also oos. (Somebody at CPW was clearly so excited at sealing the deal they didn't realise the Touchpad has no 3G so it will be 'sim free'!)
But will this work for them? Surely £30 p/m 24 months is far too expensive for a phone that nobody even cared about last week and which we've all been led to expect we could buy for under a hundred. Still, HP must be delighted.
I'll give you a hint. They use the same phones for contracts as they do for pay as you go, so it's not possible for them to be OOS on sim-free phones but have them available on contract. There's no way they're going to shift 907 pre 3s on contract...0

But what time will they give up on people taking out contracts and have them for sale as Sim Free?
 shop or online??0
