Hi All,
Am new to Lego and I need to get my son a present any tips on what to buy first he is 3 years oldDuplo is the perfect start for small hands. Start with a basic box of bricks and a base, and then look out for whatever is on offer.
although DS1 (3 in october) couldn't stand Duplo and loves real lego. you should have seen how disqusted he looked when his childminder got megablocks out the other day.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

I would buy a mixed box of little lego, not duplo. You can get storage boxes of mixed lego bricks with windows, doors, people, wheels etc that are perfect sets for just using imagination.
I will say that if you see star wars sets cheap on sale then buy them and stow them away for when he's older. It never goes out of style.0 -

My nearly 4 yeard old is exactly the same! He's never been that bothered by Duplo or Megablocks but he looooooves Lego!
We have load of Lego that belonged to DH and also some of my teenage nephew's old stuff. DS loves it all but his favourite are cars and houses.
This is a nice little set for younger children, I think:

we're the same boxes and boxes of DH's lego (that has soo many missing bits tis unreal but he is gradually spending money on bricklink to make the sets complete.)
build a house I wish.... noooo we made the mistake of getting the fire helecopter and engines etc (firestation coming for his birthday) ..... am thoroughly sick of red lego bricks!!!loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

Here's hoping - am going to ring round all my local stores in the morning just managed to catch the main one in norwich lady said they reduced loads of their toys this morning hoping I've not missed the boat:o0
