I had myself a lovely early night Lemon Tree. I did muster up the resolve to clean the kitchen so I woke up to a nice clean kitchen and a fresh start. My old morning routine used to involve getting everyone up and shouting, screaming, running around, forgetting stuff, wallowing in bed etc etc etc. They were disorganised and we were always late and miserable by the time we left the house. Now, it goes like this:
- 7am - I get up (ish, might have an extra 10 minutes if I have been a good girl the night before!)
- make a cup of tea, run a bath, get dressed from my hair to my shoes (thank you fly lady!)
- start lunches,
- 7.50 - give boys 10 min warning getting DS2 up if he is wet so he can jump in the bath
- 8am - get boys up. They come to table dressed to their socks and eat their breakfast
- boys go straight from kitchen to bathroom to do teeth, hair and face.
- boys come straight from bathroom to kitchen to pack lunchboxes
- everybody gets shoes and coats and waits by the door
Had a calmer day at work - better food prep, home to eggs, chips and beans - all on Swimming World plan. Checking in with you guys whilst chips cook. Then a lovely long bath and maybe a tidy up or some Christmas shopping/budgeting. Think I'm going to make Christmas puds tomorrow with the boys for teacher presents. I wonder if I will be brave enough to go up into the loft and look for Christmas decs?Commercial Debt £14587.22 Student Debt £7747.73

sounds like a perfectly timed day to me Ruby, i'm so terrible on mornings i hang my head in shame if i have to tell people how bad i am lol0

Ruby, I think that timetable of a morning is brilliant - I hope you can keep it up for the boys sake and also your sanity.
I am sure anger and shouting breeds lateness!!!
I have managed to get my daughter in quite a decent routine on my days and but when DH is in charge it all falls to pieces and voices are raised etc. No matter how smooth my day compared to his he cannot see that he needs to change the morning routine - (bangs head against brick wall!!!)0 -
don't forget to put a cushion between your head and the brick wall EE!0

Lemon Tree - I am SO BAD in the mornings but then I had a sleepy headed epiphany (mostly because I had also thrown my friends son into the mix 2 mornings a week which just added to the insanity of it all) - it doesn't have to be like this! By getting up before the kids I can have a bat/shower without having to get out our shout because somebody is fighting, I can wake up with a cup of tea in a civilised manner before I have to talk to anybody and they don't have any opportunity to stray off or forget stuff because I'm there managing them. I get up at the same time but it is so much easier. I even have time to feed the chickens and wash the pots! Try it for one morning and I promise you won't be disappointed!
Also, I'm in practise. I have made the decision to apply for the graduate training programme in 2013 and I am dreading the early mornings that come with teaching - I am useless in the morning!
I find that my organisation comes in fits and bursts - I will be managing really effectively for a while and then there will be one day where it all goes to pot and it will take me weeks to get back on top of it. At the moment, I'm really enjoying getting up to a clean kitchen. I wonder if taking control of my eating is helping me to take control of other stuff to?
And please don't be misled - the kitchen is clean but the rest of the house is a mess! Am planning a decluttering weekend in preparation for Christmas xxCommercial Debt £14587.22 Student Debt £7747.73

my problem is getting up before ds1. he is often up at 6 so i send him back to bed but even so.....I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

6am? Ew! Thank goodness my kids have always been sleepers! Kids with their dad last night = me late for week because routine out of the window!!
Poorly day today
- thought it might be because I lost my prescription (get hideous withdrawal) but actually think it was a migraine - headache, dizzy, dodgy tum, shivering, feverish. Went to school office and put my head on desk until end of day as no point going home as needed to pick kids up. At least they were lovely to me. Came home, collapsed into bed and slept and slept and slept until the ex-h turned up to collect boys. DS1 went to the chip shop love him (and I do!). I've woken up now - bit spaced out but potato wedges in oven and doing nothing.
The ex-h's car broke down outside the house so I made him come in whilst he was waiting for AA - he was really reluctant to come in. I don't why he was so reluctant - I was so embarrassed by state of the house! Although I was really proud to diagnose the fault on the car and the cause. He didn't believe me but I was right
!
Ok, getting tired looking at screen so gonna go rest up. And eat something.
Also, had an idea. Thinking of new year resolution to keep spending diary for whole year in order to calculate accurate budget for following year.Commercial Debt £14587.22 Student Debt £7747.73
