I cn the box but I've packed it back away and kids back in if that's any good?

Had to travel a bit because the last 2 in poole store had been reserved. (Guess another MSEer ) When phoned to reserve the one further afield they did say £249.99 but I still went ahead and like everyone said the extra £80 came off as a saving on the receipt.

Don't know if this will help anyone but there is a very similar model number that was on the shelf in Poole details below,

Compaq CQ56-112SA, 3gb - SEL £269.99 but display box said £299.99

think some stores may be getting the two models confused. HTHs

Have not seen display box for the Compaq CQ56-102SA but the SA looked shocked when it went through for £169.99 for me she thought it was £249.99. It is worth ringing around few stores if you want one. Thanks again for a great find.

Thanks so much OP! :TI was rather concerned to see a SEL which said £329.99 for the laptop, but decided to get the price checked. First of all it scanned at £249.99, but then the SA said that some discount had come off and the price was £169.99. :jShe asked whether that was what I had expected. I tried not to grin too much when I said that yes it was thank you...

apparently they got 3 in the cardiff store not sure if its true but thats what i was told earlier today.

My till reciept says 13.29

The staff in there were FANTASTIC going back and forth to the stockroom checking them as they weren't scanning properly.

The woman told me they only had 2, but maybe she meant that there was 2 after the one she was scanning.

Small world indeed, and nice that we got bargains, but if there is ever an offer on profiteroles, I WILL race you to the checkout

Called up my local and the Presario isn't even on their systems apparantly so therefore not available anywhere locally, they said their was two compaq models on their system at £199.99 both start with cq60.

I'm guessing that there is going to be several models cheaper, has anyone checked any other electrical too see if further reductions apply on those too?
