That is alot of clubcard points! I think what would have me umming and ahhing about buying one for Christmas is that is 4 months of the warranty used by then and if it didn't work you would likely only be able to get a refund instead of a replacement as it is clearance stock now.

You could use the vouchers to buy other gifts or the christmas food shop, but if they do double up the vouchers and include laptops you would be able to get a new laptop with a better processor, more ram and more hard disk space, and probably look a bit nicer too.

On the other hand if it does all he wants then it's more of a case of if your store stocks it.

Thanks to OP - just what my mum was looking for!! They did say that the £249.99 included the £80 discount, but she asked them to scan it and they were surprised :-)

    Thanks very much!

I've just been and bought the last 2 at Heaton Park (one for son, one for Mum)

At first when they were scanning the boxes, it was scanning at £199.99 and the original price was £279.99. I queried what the SEL said and then she said that it must have scanned wrong, but looks like the original price included the discount. She shown me the printout of the box scanned and even though it was a Compaq box, it was scanning an Acer Aspire at £199.99!!!

So same glitch must be working on Acers too :)

Anyway, she wwent in the box and brought out the actual laptop which scanned at £169.99 so really pleased as thats sons xmas pressie sorted.

Thanks so much OP ... and now I can stop reading the HP Touchpad thread, lol
  • The aspire is an amazing deal!! Now that is one I would be running to my local for. Online deal shows was £499.99 deal is £150 off, so another £150 making it £199.99. That is worth the extra £30, 3gb ram 500gb hard disk and a better processor.

I can't confirm the Aspire deal, but the assistant said it was £199.99 and that was with £80 off not £150 ... confused!
