Hi all x hope everyone is doing well. I haven't managed to post a lot, but I have still been getting some flying done. over the past couple of days I have helped DH finish painting hall, stairs and landing and relay the carpet. I have taken down the blinds in the bathroom and kitchen, scrubbed them in the bath and put them back up, made 10 jars of courgette chutney, stewed up a hundred million(dd's estimation) apples, podded all my heritage beans to finish drying, pickled a couple of jars of beetroot...
oh yes, and cleaned the fridge and defrosted the chest freezer in the garage. both of which i dont like doing.
Now I need to go and get ready for the 3rd party this weekend with another 2 to go to later on today...no parties for months then 5 in a weekend! There'll be very little flying done today, except the very basics. Happy sunday everyone x

Guess who else washes in colours...

    :rotfl:

I also wash by type, too

so I have whites; towels (which I wash HOT)... you don't really need to know any more ;)

    washing on line
our furry lodger has been picked up; DD is now flush with filthy lucre
and I have started on the great strawberry bed...

I am rooting runners from that side (points) and relocating them to that side (points) on my newly dug 'proper' veg patch. So I have refilled the pots with more soil and caught more runners (one of my colleagues has asked for some) I am using a mixture of proper plant pots and big yogurt pots with holes in;) The ones I planted this morning are very well rooted. I am going to compost all my old plants as some are very old now, and DD has suggested I used that side for stuff that needs caning, such as tomatoes and runner beans, which is a good idea.

    *gets camera*

ETA F'any flykids want any Disney cards let me know what you're looking for - I have a stack almost 4cm high and I don't really want any as the Valliteens are too old...

Mrs C what're you getting rid of - same stuff as Kazw?

    Have a great holiday, dusty!

greenbee - sorry, but not good with ideas for very small children anymore. I usually ask the parents (or other close relatives) for suggestions. I'm sure he'll have the traditional stuff like hammer benches, stacking toys, shape sorters already. Both DSs liked pop-up toys like this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/FUN-TIME-Pop-Farmyard-Friends/dp/B000T7N15U/ref=sr_1_2?s=baby&ie=UTF8&qid=1314534748&sr=1-2
They were also very keen on trains, DS2 in particular. A wooden starter set usually includes a track, some trains and other bits, but it might be a bit too soon for that. http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.200-4474.aspx?utm_source=GoogleShopping&utm_medium=GSF_NormalFeed&utm_campaign=GSF_TescoDirect&utm_content=200-4474
Early Learning are good for reasonably priced outdoor stuff, too.

Valli - I believe so. I work in kg, so mine are 500g units, rather than the English lb, if that makes sense. Lots of reasons: have clothes that don't fit, expecting trouble with joints before too long and don't like what I see when I look in the mirror.

ETA Valli is right - Lego/Duplo and building bricks in general are great. DS1 had a big tup of 100 wooden shapes in primary colours. Great for building all sorts of towers, bridges etc.

Valli - I wash bedding hot as well as towels, because it takes 60 degrees to kill dust mites... And when I stopped using fabric conditioner I didn't need to keep them separate anymore. And I separate the rest, although I don't seem to generate much washing at the moment, which means there is never enough for a full load of anything.

Suppose I should have lunch. I've been putting it off because of the iron tablets:o

Greenbee - I singes the dust mites when I irons 'em ;)

and Duplo Greenbee? DD had the Duplo farm for her 3rd Birthday (half price in ELC - benefit of baby born in January) Was age marked 3-5. When she was 6 she thought we were going to take it away - she played with it endlessly and adored it. I said she could still play with it if she wanted - she did. It was eventually washed and put away and is in the attic awaiting her own babies... I also saved the Lego and other Duplo and the Brio. My mum still has our Lego! Said it was the best toy she ever bought!

just printing route to Long Eaton as we are going for a barbie later. I need a shower though.

I've just had some ebay feedback - 'ok' feeling this was rather terse I checked other feedback from this buyer and it's par for the course! Phew!

Why, oh why do the local branch of CAMRA insist on holding just about every branch meeting in a pub I can't get the wheelchair into? Grrr:mad:
I'm getting to the point where I feel like telling them to shove their beer score database (which I maintain for them - they email their scores to me, often in non-standard format and I put them on the spreadsheet) somewhere the sun doesn't shine! I also check the planning applications on the two local councils that our area covers every week, to check for applications affecting pubs, and this takes quite chunk out of my weekend; I'm beginning to feel somewhat taken for granted!

I even emailed a whole raft of pubs and asked about wheelchair access, put the results on an Excel spreadsheet, and emailed it to the Secretary. To no avail.:( What's got me so hopping mad (or would if I was capable of hopping:D) is that they booked an upstairs room in a pub for the August meeting, which was earlier this week. So they know darned well there's no way I can attend that! Arrgh, to Hel with them!
    Somewhat taken for granted?????????????

I really really wish you would get angry enough to put all the paperwork etc. in a box and get Mr LW to take it to the next meeting, dump it on the floor and walk out.
