Do you cover cakes with cling film in the microwave or leave them uncovered? 've got it in the microwave now and have covered mine, wasn't sure if that was the right thing to do or not.

I've never covered cakes or puddings in the microwave. I don't think I've ever seen "cover your cake" written in any of the recipes I've used or read, either.

Microwave sponge pudding: 2oz each of SF flour, sugar, marge, tbsp milk, 1 egg mixed and poured over 2tbsp of jam/nutella/syrup and microwaved in a deep bowl(cover with cling film) for 2-3 mins. Makes a nice big pud for 2 or 4 with ice-cream/custard.
i am soooooo going to try that! thankyou!:D

probably not the healthiest things to make but cheats doughnuts are nice, make jam sarnies without butter, cut off crusts and cut into triangles, dip in batter and fry, dip in sugar and bob's your uncle.

i will have to try this too! what recipe do you use for the batter?z

  • Bananas in Ideal Milk

Slice a banana into bowl, sprinkle with sugar and cover with Ideal milk.

    Suet pudding with syrup

    Mix 4 oz S R Flour + pinch salt
    2 oz suet
    Syrup

Mix dry ingredients and add enough water to form a fairly stiff dough. Grease some foil, place dough on top. Wrap loosely to allow for rising, boil in saucepan with a little water for 30 mins. Serve with cold syrup.

    Orange and pineapple refresher

Open small tin pineapple and cut up. Cut up some oranges and remove peel and slice. Mix together, add sugar to taste and cherries for decoration.
